If I have any health issues I always ask on an internet forum instead of seeking medical advice. What could go wrong?

Probably not serious, but it might be, and the serious stuff is...serious.

So see a doctor!

Offline Xtro

Yeah mate, go and see a Doctor.
I just had a quick search on the world wide wait and the answers range from nothing to worry about to cancer and everything in between!    :scare:
I got that from the NHS believe it or not.  External Link/Members Only

See your Doctor!!

Offline RandomGuy99

And seeing your doctor is one of the valid reasons for a trip out.

The NHS is now worried that they're not seeing as many cases of the "normal" stuff and they know the things like heart attacks are still happening but people aren't seeking help.  There are estimates that there may be up to 150,000 extra deaths caused by the lockdown and people not seeking help and being tested for various conditions.

See your doctor.

Offline psb

I've had that as a result of using Viagra. I use herbal treatments instead nowadays, they don't have that side effect

Offline winkywanky

I would still see a doctor.

Prostate cancer and testicular cancer are possibilities.

It may be that Viagra has opened up blood vessels much more than they have been for years, but you shouldn't be bleeding out of your cock.

Go see a doctor.

i'm with ginger - definitely more sensible to ask an anonymous internet forum

Anything unusual you spot in your poo, urine, semen go see the doctor. Might not be serious but if it is the sooner the better. How easy it is to get an appointment at the moment I don't know.

There has been concern that patients are staying away, obviously surgeries don't want anyone going in with CV-19 symptoms, but according to announcements on the radio the advice is don't avoid getting any other concerns assessed.

From knowing a few men who had the symptom of blood in urine I hear that action is often very rapid, because treatment for cancer of the prostate is most likely to be successful if caught early. Other explainations are possible.

I do also know blood in semen can cause alarm to SPs, not least because it's blood which may end up in their mouth during OWO.

Offline winkywanky

I don't know whether the blood would be potentially any more dangerous than the semen carrying it, but the appearance of it would certainly be alarming.

I think it is pretty easy to get an appointment at the moment, but most appointments are on the phone consultations.  Only if it's something they need to see or measure will they get you to come into the surgery.  Prescriptions and the like will be done electronically to wherever you need them and drug stocks seem to be holding up well because people generally being less sick this time of year (apart from CV19 obviously).

I think it's safe to say if you told them you had blood in your semen, they would definitely get you in to have a look (or should I say, finger).

Offline bigmc

I get it sometimes when I get epididymitis, Its a long term complication of having a vasectomy. I ALWAYS get myself checked out even though I know what it has been in the past. Had 2 scans just to make sure over the years.
Why would you not ?

As all the above, GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR FFS !!!

You might need to have a telephone appointment to get past reception and speak to a doctor but as soon as you explain the symptoms they will have you in pretty sharpish. The sooner you do, the better, if you haven’t already.

Offline winkywanky

My GP surgery were already doing telephone triage before all this Coronavirus business, it actually works really well, the doctor calls you back within about an hour and you have a quick natter then take it from there.

Yes had this once recently during a booking. SP was great about things as it was a check to see if blood was inside or outside condom. So long and short of it, made appointment with doc next day, few tests and 2 weeks later all good no issues found, Go see docs!

Offline Logamimo

It happened to me back in 1986 when I was in my mid thirties. Had a number of tests done but all proved negative. The consultant concluded that it was a weak blood vessel that kept rupturing, he said it would eventually clear up on its own without any intervention, which it did. Not had any trouble since.

They might have similar experiences but theirs might be for a completely different reason, so always see a doc first.

And now you are, so good on you.

But of course now you've brought it up, you're going to have to post up about how you get on  ;).

JRWK, I use a green pill provided by a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice in Manchester.  If you want to go down that route go for an assessment to a TCM practice which will usually initially cost about £80. The tablets cost £6 and don't have any side effects other than a slight flush facially.

Have you not seen the NHS adverts on tv? Admittedly all we see now ate linked to self isolation to save the NHS and Save Lives. The advice in the adverts is simple "BLood in your pee or poo see a doctor" I'd also see a doctor if I had blood in my semen.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL it could be a number of things. Its useless speculating what it might be get it checked out. The sooner it's diagnosed the sooner you can get treatment whatever it is!

I had it once, was v worried and went to the g
GP. Embarrassed to admit that I'd noticed because I was wanking...doc reassured was nothing to worry about. Prob a blood vessel burst, just come back if it happens again, which it never did. Glad I went, and I have a male doc!

Why risk the embarrassment of telling your doc you were having a wank?

Much better to tell him you were spurting a week's-worth straight into the willing mouth of a hot bird, and you turned her face red with the overshoot?

A little improvement to what you tell the Doc. I think my Doc's reaction would be 'That doesn't surprise me chilli man.....' :D

My ex-GP retired at 65 and developed bowel cancer  :(.

Lovely guy, he lives not far from me...saw him out and about the other week, he's fully recovered and he has a Far Eastern (Thai?) gf about half his age .

I reckon she'll finish him off, but he'll die with a smile on his face  :D.

I've had this, it's alarming, went to see my GP, first thing they check is prostate, which he thought was ok but to be in the safe side I was referred to a specialist at the hospital, a few questions and a finger up my arse was enough to satisfy the consultant I had a clean rectal passage and no prostate issues, it's quite common and can be caused through too much wanking or damage to the blood vessels near the prostate, even riding a bike, anyway it cleared up completely and no return symptoms for a year now. Bottom line, see your gp and take thier advice.

Had it twice. First in 2018 then last year.
First time had prostate tested; both blood and physical, had scan of testicles at hospital and nothing found, but given antibiotics and blood eventually went away. Doc said it just happens, and quite common, not one patient with symptoms presented to him had ever had anything dodgy, all times it just went away.
Blood back about a year later. Had another prostate test, nothing found, but doc sent me to hospital. By this time the blood had stopped, but went anyway, just in case. Consultant did the finger test, asked some questions, took a urine sample, and discharged me - said couldn't find anything wrong, said it sometimes happens, and not to worry.

So, get yourself checked, but don't worry as it's pretty common and almost always nothing to worry about. Docs WILL get you checked out asap. Scans, physical checks and blood tests are all still open.

Cheers.
