This antique box of match candles, were said to be used by women in brothels, as a timer. A man would pay his dues and then would light the candle. Once the candle went out, the session was over.

Each candle would last ~7 minutes

Paying for too big a candle can, however, be a mistake.  Too slow a burn can have a deflationary effect.

You want your candle to burn out long before your legend ever did.
