Vietnam - Barbers shops and Thailand

Hi

I am, thinking of travelling to Vietnam and staying for 4-5 nights and then travelling onto Thailand.   Has anyone been the to Barbers shops in Vietnam.?  The girls look amazing and I was wondering if they do extra.   Any other tips regarding Vietnam would be especially welcome.  I'm also going to then head onto Bangkok and maybe then Koh Samui so again any advice is really appreciated, especially on the Vietnam front.

If you're looking for the more decadent side of Thai nightlife then forget Samui!! It's atrociously dull at night these days.

Search Internet for Vietnam hot tocs
there are 2-3 shops opposite the Pullman hotel near the backpackers area in district 1, there were some good lookers in there
Also down Nguyễn Phi Khanh D1 there are many bj shops when you walk down the guys will shout you, it's fine to go in and look at the girls and move on if you don't like. As a tourist they will want 400k (£13) locals pay about 250k
There is a famous shop called Benny's but I walked from there as you cannot select a girl and I didn't like the one given me
The Japanese street area has many massage places which is well worth a look, with some nice bars and food around
Download Wechat as it's very popular and has a handy translate feature. Hotels are generally not gf so do your research

Going to Vietnam - take American dollars in cash , change them as you need . Trying to exchange GB Pounds is quite challenging .

Whats your recommendation then Goodfellas000?   I open to ideas and recommendations.   I'd be stopping in Bangkok anyway and was only thinking Samui as I'd heard good things about it?

Thanks John, really appreciate it.  I am guessing you are referring to Hanoi in the above?  I'm planning to visit both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.  Not sure what you mean about hotels not gf?  I've already got  we chat and actually use it here....met and dated a chinese girl for the 15 months while she was here studying from it :-)

My trip is not until March next year bit already really looking forward to it.  I've not booked hotels yet so always open to suggestions.

No this is for hcmc, there are 20+ districts in hcmc and district 1 has the backpackers area. I think district 7 is good too but have a Google search.
Most (90%) of hotels are not girl friendly, you won't get a girl back to the hotel.
Other areas seem ok, in Nha trang I took a girl back no problem.
I've not been to Hanoi, but reports say it is not best for girls

Depends what you're looking for. Samui is beautiful, loads of things to see and do, warm and clear sea to swim in, lots of fantastic places to eat. The perfect tropical island in many ways. However, Thai nightlife is notorious the world over and over the years Samui has become more and more bland at night. In fact when I was last on Samui, it was positively boring!!

Take what you will from that, but if you're wanting a much more adult theme to your trip then Samui is best passed by.

Not sure i agree with you on that one, If you’re American its fine, but if you’re from the UK and have to buy $ you lose out changing them, and back again,
The hotels I’ve stayed in HCM D1 have given at least as good, or not better than the going rates at exchange places for £.
Another drawback with using $ is that even the smallest purchase becomes $1, the Vietnamese are very canny and will almost always ask you for payment in $ it gives them the opertunity to 'have you over' as the $ price always seems to exceed the VND price.

I agree no issue changing £ just make sure they are pristine, no writing on them and no rips but that goes for all currencies. There are atm’s everywhere but the limit is low on some.
I found the punting poor barber shops were very mechanical and the brothels hard to find and dead basic.

Never go to the barber shops, what sort of anount did they charge ?,did they offer the full servive or just HE like the massage shops

I concur on Samui being boring, went there last year and it was slow on the night time, not like how I remembered back in 2006.

I spent a fortnight in Vung Tau two years ago. It was extraordinary. I am VERY old, but spent most of two weeks with one girl who claimed she was 18, but was certainly very young. Being driven around on the back of her scooter in the monsoon rain an amazing experience. Paying about £500 for the time well, amazing

Also being very old Vung Tau sounds interesting as Saigon districk 1 is a bit too much 'hippy crack ballon' for me, how did you find your lady friend ?  off the net or touring the bars,
