Currently in BKK checking out the scene.  It's busier than expected.  I'll write up some of my Thai experiences with tips soon. 

Can anyone remember the name of the fancy hotel with large line-up of massage girls? There's a youtube video of it, which I cannot put my hands on just now.  Thought I'd try to check it out.

I was trying to remember it’s name. Yeah that’s the one. Used to stay in the big hotel a few yards away by the crossroads, pick up newbies as they came for their morning noodles. Heard it’s gone down a bit. I found the Grace a bit sleazy, not the freshest of women, a bit overpriced but at least available very late night and when other places were fairly shut.

How about Thermae bar down  under the Ruanchitt hotel on Sukhumvitt. Full of freelancers all around the wall side seats the men hang about in the middle eying up the talent.

Thermae is also closed, and I personally never found it pushy in the past.  Still plenty of freelancers outside these days. 

I think NOW is an excellent time to visit BKK.  Not entirely open.  But a great time was had.  Full post to follow...

I spent just a few days in Bangkok.  It’s more alive than I expected.  Plenty of bars are open and serving almost normally – beers often go into a mug so it’s not so obvious they’re serving alcohol without food (although really, who are they kidding?!)  Massage places are mostly open too.

I wandered along Sukhumvit between Terminal 21 and Nana.  A good handful of bars are open.  Thermae is closed.  There’s a lot of girls loitering for customers near Sofitel/Thermae including some very good quality ones, and there’s a few more dotted all the way along that stretch.  I find it hard to make a snap judgement on these girls, I prefer to spend a bit more time with a girl first to check their figure and personality out properly. 

I went towards Nana Plaza.  But the entrance – where security guards normally make baffling jerky torch movements – is closed and you cannot get into anything there.  There’s an optimistic sign saying it will open soon.  The rest of that street is still partially active.  Hooters is open, bars down the street are open, the “people watching” bar opposite Nana hotel is open.  There are still freelancers outside the Nana hotel, but I’d say perhaps 75% less than usual times.

The best place was actually Soi 7.  Just before the longstanding Beer Garden, a new bar has opened up and it has lots of good quality girls.  Further, there’s a side alley at that bar, and it leads to a whole new complex of vibrant beer bars replete with pool tables and the classic Thai atmosphere of bar girls trying to beckon you in.

I had three punts when I was there. 

Number 1, was a girl I pulled from outside Thermae/Sofitel on my first night.  (1500 baht ~£32, down from her initial offer of 2000 baht).  It was my best option in the moment despite preferring to spend longer with them before deciding.  She was 25, petite, slender.  But the clincher was her upbeat personality.  She was a bit jumpy in bed but a great site to behold when going at it doggie.  I still fancied some socialising after this, and she said she’d direct me to a friend’s bar serving past Covid restriction times.  Call ahead, open the “secret door”, and I’m in.  She ended up coming in with me and having a couple of drinks.  I totally recommend anyone to try to find these illicit “lock-in” type bars.  The atmosphere is great, and I enjoy whiling away the night over beers, pool, sharing banter and getting tactile with hot girls.  My attraction for this girl grew more when I saw more of her effusive personality, and tbh she was also the hottest girl in there.  I was tempted to take her home for round 2.  But I was too tired.

The second punt was a massage place. 2000 baht ~£43 including massage and full service.  The Maria hotel massage place I was looking for was shut, so I went along to soi 24 and looked around there - there are loads open, so I had a look at a few line ups and eventually chose a very skinny girl.  I think the place was “all star girls” and the girl was called Soda.  On the day, I think they had the best looking girls.  At first I thought her face wasn’t so attractive but I changed my mind during the punt.  She was 22, quietly cheerful and engaging.  Another from Isan – so many girls I speak to seem to be from there!  Her mother called her (twice) as she was giving me head, but she didn’t pick up.  No Rom service here.  I asked later – does your Mum know you work in a massage place?  Err...no.  Anyway, it was good sex.  And afterwards, she continued the massage which was also enjoyable as I dozed after emptying my sack. 

The third and final punt was from the aforementioned new bar on Soi 7.  Like many beer bars in Phuket, it can be hard to find a hot girl to sit with, firstly because they’re often sitting with other blokes and secondly, because the more modest girls (who have to work harder for customers) intercept you as you get close and it’s a bit awkward to say – “yes I’ll stay for a beer but not with you.”  Anyway, I managed it this time, going up to two hotties.  One in particular I focused on, and asked her to show me to a table.  Given they’re desperate to get you to come in and buy a beer, this was an open goal to bag a customer.  But she was shy, hesitated, didn’t have the confidence to sit with me alone, and only came with me when her butch friend joined us.  Her other (hot) friend was then left alone, and I decided to pull her in too.  So three lady drinks, and then the bloody mamasan was asking for one too.  I’ve spent a fortune lately and endless additional requests for lady-drinks was starting to irritate me, especially when you get such a grumpy response after drawing a line.

Anyway, my shy target spoke extra poor English and was embarrassed by that and was generally lacking in a bit of confidence.  She worked in an office daytime, so not a full time bar girl.  After a bit of chit-chat she was surprised when I presented a google translate invite to my hotel room.  Her more streetwise friends were used to such requests and they encouraged this endearingly shy girl to take up my offer.  The girl was hot, slender, small, well-dressed, 25.  Yes, pretty similar to my first punt.  And I liked the naivety and shyness.  It may not be a great punt, she even said to me “I may not be able to take care of you”.  She was that inexperienced and under-confident.  But it would also be great to break her into Farangs and sleep with a girl who isn’t in a routine.  I reassured her it would be relaxed, but I wasn’t going to hassle her into it.  Take it or leave it.  I didn’t want to haggle too hard either so left it at 2000 baht ~£43 and a 500baht ~£11 bar fine plus about 1000 baht ~£22 in drinks.

In the end she took up the offer.  And off we scuttled to my hotel.  I’d got a slightly strange apartment down a dark alley and I could tell this girl was totally on guard about the whole situation and nervous going off the beaten track. She was relieved when we got to the hotel, and when we got inside, I knew I’d need to relax her more.  That gradually happened, including plenty of pre-chat (thanks google translate) before the deed.  She was super shy in bed, embarrassed to remove her towel and wanting the lights out.  I didn’t even push for oral sex – either way – as I think she was already close to her limit of what she was comfortable doing.  When I directed her to warm up my tackle with her hands, she had no idea what she was doing.  But in the end, she was a fantastic punt.  Raw.  So tight!  And so passionate, she really got into it.  At one point I started wondering who was enjoying it more.  It was as close to a civvie as I’ve got this last month.  So hot!  After the deed, she’s happily lying in bed wanting to bond more over yet more chit-chat, in marked contrast to so many working girls who go as soon as you come.  She confirmed my impression that it’s the first time she’s gone to a Farang’s hotel.  And she had mixed feelings about it.  She’d started going to Nana bars just before Covid shut it all down but had only had drinks.  I’ve always wanted to pull a civvie from a club or something like that, one wanting to top-up her income rather than doing it FT.  That’s now ticked off the bucket list.  I was also curious about how much £ it meant to her, and managed to get it out of her that she earns about 500baht a day at her office job.  So 2000 baht plus lady drink kick backs is much more profitable.
 
For the cynics out there who may think she was acting, I really don’t think so.  I’m not so sure how genuine some “sweet girly” girls were in Phuket.  But this one was so shy and clumsy for the whole night, if it was an act she could make a lot of money as an actress! 

This was a great end to my Thailand adventure. I’ll write up more from Phuket soon.   It’s been wonderful. 

As for BKK, I actually think it’s a good time to go now.  I think quarantine restrictions just eased, but this hasn’t yet caused a surge in tourists.  There’s plenty of ways to punt – as the above three – and probably more of a buyer’s market atm compared to Phuket or what BKK could be like in a few months’ time.

The other thing about timing is avoiding monsoon season. It’s not the end of the world, especially in Bangkok as your clothes dry off quickly as soon as the rain stops. But the downpours can slow things down. It varies in different parts of the country but necessarily to check first if you’re thinking April or May.

Apart from that, Bangkok tends to be good all year round. It can get boring once you’ve been many times (the women all have a very similar appearance) but heading for a hot country during the British winter makes perfect sense.

For me it was worth the chance.  It is a small risk though.  They took temperature checks immediately before boarding and even went around the plane half way there (and there's only one way I can think of, of helping you cool down and not enter Thailand if you develop a temperature on the plane  ) 

I had a couple of nearby passengers coughing their heads.  Even removing their masks to do so. And I wasn't happy about it and asked the closer one to put his mask on.  But I passed all my covid tests.

The lock-in places are not on the main streets (too risky with Police) but not far from them.  You might find one of your own accord - for example from Bangala road in Patong towards Kristen massage, there's a heavy rock bar on the right there I stumbled across that was open and welcoming. Or, a nightclub roughly opposite the end of Banagla road, just go around to the fire exit and knock on the door (sounds risky, but that's what we did, albeit I had a gogo/bar girl with me)  It was packed inside.   Otherwise, I'd just ask some bar girls or some bar tenders - they're pretty helpful and you're offering their pal some more custom.  I don't think you'll have much trouble finding them.  You might just have to dash off somewhere if the Police turn up (happened to me as per earlier post) . 

In BKK I think most girls could be knocked back to 1500 baht or less.  I just didn't do that with the newbie #3 as she was uncertain enough about taking the offer.  In contrast, most half-decent girls in Phuket were asking for 3000 baht short time with 900 baht bar fine.  A lot of these girls were gogo dancers turned bar girls, but still it's relatively pricey and so is the bar fine.

Maybe. I've walked back to Buakhao through there late at night. Never went into any bar there. Probably my bad. All looked a bit ramshackle to me, like it could spring up somewhere else?

Yes 1h, 1 shot.  You could probably knock the phuket girls down to 2500.  I was still surprised at 3000 opening offer and also the 900 baht bar fine.  But I bartered and I never did pay 3000 for any girl.  If it's near closing time you may get a discount on both.  Come to think of it, the smaller bars with perhaps less than 5 bar girls were not asking for 3000 baht.

I'm not sure how it compares to before, but 1500 (down from 2000 offer) for a good quality girl outside Thermae in BKK seems worth the spend to me.

I've been in Thailand a few weeks now. Here's a brief report. Hopefully you'll find it useful. Happy to answer questions. Will post more days as I finish writing up my notes.

Day 0

Arrived in BKK. Getting through the airport took 15 minutes via a very efficient two-step process for checking Thai Pass and related paperwork. No mention of the Morchana app or scanning QR codes. I had everything printed out, people trying to pull stuff up on their phone seemed to take a lot longer.

I had to wait about 30 minutes for the taxi to the hotel to show up. They had also cheekily doubled up all solo travellers! We chatted briefly in the taxi, and mentioned both being afraid the other might test positive, and result in us both having to fully quarantine.

Speedy PCR swab test taken at the hotel, and then confined to my room. Felt like a bit of a wasted evening, but I took the opportunity to adjust to the new timezone.

Day 1

The hotel only got back to me about 11:30am, although the test paperwork says they got results about 8am that morning. Apparently there are efforts underway to make this all take even less time, so hopefully will be better for future travellers.

Wood Bar (External Link/Members Only) - BJ / 800

Only 2 ladies on duty. Picked Maya, super slim but older Isaan lady. BJ was a bit toothy, would not repeat. However she was very enthusiastic, took us to a private room and was happy to get naked. Service was with loads of spit and slurping, and made a great show of swallowing the lot at the end. For such a great welcome to Thailand I tipped 200.

Massage place on Sukhumvit Soi 19 - 1 hour oil massage / 600 + 1.9k for FS+BBBJCIM

I wanted to visit Mai Chan but no one was available! So instead I went to the massage place next door. Sorry, I didn't make a note of the name!

Saw Pattie - spinner with a pretty face. She gave a great oil massage, and then I opted to upgrade the service as her body was super fit. Reasonable BJ and great LBFM action with her on top. Finished with CIM. Might revisit.

Taking a stroll around Sukhumvit it certainly felt very quiet compared to normal. A lot of the ladies I spoke with also commented that there were no tourists and little work. They also all asked if I was double vaccinated and with which one.

Day 2

Analisa Massage (External Link/Members Only) - 90 minute 4-hand tantra / 3700

In the mood for something more PSE, I headed over the Analisa Massage. They had some specials on, so I opted for the 90-minute 4-hand tantra, including the gloryhole/milking table!

The mamasan suggested Poppy and Name for this service, and they were an excellent choice! Very friendly and chatty, not super-slim but well proportioned. Poppy was slightly more dominant, often directing Name in the action, which was a huge turn-on.

Shared shower with both ladies gave all of me a good wash, then a relatively good 4-hand massage on the table, with my dangly bits… dangling through the hole. Allowing for plenty of reach-under action from the pair of now giggling ladies. Poppy then directed Name to get under the table, where she then positioned a mirror so that I could see her and what she was doing with the bit of me dangling through the hole. Poppy continued the normal massage while giving filthier and filthier directions to what Name should be doing underneath. After a very satisfactory conclusion, we switched back to a more normal 4-hand massage again, and then finally a second pop via 4-hand HJ with me the right way up this time. Be aware that Analisa’s specialises in prostate play, so be prepared for a cheeky finger!

FL Jip on Sukhumvit Road / ST 2.5k

Took a walk along Sukhumvit Road to check out the action there. Not a lot of FLs out though. It’s also quite challenging being able to tell how pretty they are facially, as they’re all masked up. Some observations after 7 days here:

• Activity in the soi’s seems to be getting busier than when I arrived, but still very quiet compared to the last time I was here some years ago.
• Much busier on Friday and Saturday nights. Would say triple the amount of FLs along Sukhumvit Road on Friday night compared to other nights.
• A common question the FL ladies ask you is if you are vaccinated, one or two times, and which vaccine.
• After 11pm there’s no alcohol being sold (“officially”) and most places close down. I’ve seen Thai police taking a slow cruise along the busier streets at 11pm to check.

• Almost all venues (malls, hotels, BTS, etc.) will have a guard and a temperature check at the entrance - if your temp is too high, you will be refused access.
• Apparently there is a new law saying that you cannot advertise prices online, so some places you have to contact them directly to obtain prices.

Yes 1h, 1 shot.  You could probably knock the phuket girls down to 2500.  I was still surprised at 3000 opening offer and also the 900 baht bar fine.  But I bartered and I never did pay 3000 for any girl.  If it's near closing time you may get a discount on both.  Come to think of it, the smaller bars with perhaps less than 5 bar girls were not asking for 3000 baht.

I'm not sure how it compares to before, but 1500 (down from 2000 offer) for a good quality girl outside Thermae in BKK seems worth the spend to me.

Cons:

I have been to Thailand several times but now I am a widow so this will be quite different. Your reccy's chime with lots of reviews I have read elsewhere. And I was really interested in your sideline app reviews. I have been debating using them - particularly outside Bangkok - in Korat, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai as well as Bangkok. I think though I will message the 'clubs' to see if they have 'sisters' who will see farangs and who might speak a little English. I love the translations on Chrome for their do/don't do especially 'clean the refrigerator". Anyway I envy your stamina - I will be 71 when I arrive but I still intend having a lot of fun. And everyone can laugh, I have cut down on alcohol which has already improved my libido and performance. If I have half the fun I had in Argentina with Seeking before covid I will be very happy.
Again thanks - your reviews are fantastic - and I was wobbling over Mitu, Kokomo - now I def will go.
Also there sounds enough going on on  the streets to justify my trip. And my having online Thai lessons (only 6 but they have taught me pronunciations, some vocabulary and a little grammar)

I'm headed to BKK very soon, bit the bullet and I'm going for Christmas. Usually split time between bkk and Pattaya. However may just stay in bkk as Pattaya doesn't sound like it has much back up and running yet. Some great info on this thread, thanks guys.

Just be aware that the Thai Embassy are VERY fussy that all the information you send for the THAI PASS is 100% correct. Even a slight mistake could get it rejected.

If it does ,you have to start all over again which could mean buying a new flight, accommodation and PCR test and delaying your departure by at least a week

I got mine in 10 mins, do everything it says even on image format, you can use snipit to create the images required. I donno how much it helped but I used a Thai covid insurance provider rather than mess around with my bank account travel insurance.

So did I. Thai AXA not that pricey for 2 months. The only bothersome bit was the photo - took me 6 goes.  But no problem either for a visa or the entry pass. Much more straightforward than other countries who were vague

I got the Thai pass in ten minutes after submitting it. Although it took me a lot longer to prepare everything I needed.
