Sunset Strip Dean Street, is it still worth a visit?

Is Sunset Strip Dean Street still worth a visit? I have not been there for 10 years.
I used to love going there when I travelled a lot to London. I tried a number of other clubs, which all seemed to run by thugs intent on ripping me off.
I loved it 12 pound entry, optional bar drink. Sit for an hour mesmerised by beautiful naked ladies. Would always bring four £5 notes for tips. I’d leave when I got bored and the stage show repeated and I wasn’t getting hard anymore. On three occasions I visited a walk-up, which was terrible, then maybe back in to Sunset with my all day receipt. First time there, 1990, I was still a virgin, never seen a real pussy before. Happy memories.

I am back in London for a while and was thinking of heading there. Thing is comments on this forum after 2015 say it has changed, private lapdances £20 a go, high pressure pushy dancers.

i would be surprised if it was even still open to be honest... the old soho is gone  by the way... the community has been gentrified, the property priced out and the land grabbed.

I had heard as much. The sex scene is a bit daunting now for a visitor. Strip clubs all but gone, there are hundreds of escort ads on AW with 0 reviews. I dont know where to start.

I always remember going to Sunset Strip many many years ago and saw a number of blokes mainly old men with pack lunches and newspapers, I spoke to 1 and they basically stayed for hours like a social club outing he told me. They didn't even watch the strippers most of the time.

As to the strippers they were all pissed whenever I went and stumbling all over the place. It was about as sexy as seeing Susan Boyle naked and some weren't much better looking than her. There were a couple of lookers though.

This was in the days of peep shows with the bins and around the bins full of spunked on tissues, lovely. I also had to fight myself out of a clip joint once. Happy days, not, though Soho was good from the point of view of it being where I went for sleaze before I first punted. Then punting became my interest and I cant abide watching women in the flesh stripping or lapdancing who I cant fuck, for a VFM price. Tease isn't something that interests me.

Malvolio: There was another thread on "Ye Old Axe" club so I thought it OK to post. I thought they were quite similar sex worker jobs as I know a couple of girls do both.
I am trying to decide between a strip club, or a prostitute.
The London scene is very different now from when I was there last. I can't find information on clubs or escorts. There is so much crap on AW its impossible to find anything. I came here but there are so many reviews it quite a task hunting through each one and following links for pics etc.

Thanks for input guys. In conclusion Soho not what it was, no one goes to strip clubs anymore, and there shit now anyway.

Oh my God! 1967 to 70 I lived with one of the strippers there, a Polish girl called Nina.

In those days they went from one club to another. She worked in one in Old Compton Street and another on Kingly Street - the Bag O' Nails, which became a disco, where Paul McCartney met his first wife. I used to dance there night after night - many stories.

The guy who ran Sunset Street was known as the most professional and caring of all the club owners and they did a good show. Must be long dead, and not doubt rogues took over. Sad.

Went a couple of weeks ago on a stag, it's about £10 entry and then dances are £20/£30 depending on your haggling skills. Mine seem to decrease with an increase in alcoohol consumption!

Not what it once was. I occasionally visit The Griffin Pub at 125, Clerkenwell Road. Near to Chancery Lane tube station. Free admission, you put £1 in the jar when girl circulates. She then gets up on stage for a full strip. I think is an expectation that you buy yourself a drink from the bar. Can also have private strip, which I think is £10 during the day, but higher amount in the evening. My last visit was about a month ago when was major transport delays from Kings Cross, so rather than wait at station I used the Griffin as a place to wait for the trains to restart.
