with respect, you need to be a little more assertive. i usually do a coffee and chat as a M&G first meeting but if we meet at lunchtime or early evening and lunch or dinner is suggested, i say "ok lets go to a wagamama or turtlebay type restaurant" ie an ok place but not expensive. if she suggests somewhere too expensive i just say we will keep that to another time. i ask if she prefers red or white but i always choose the wine - not that i am any kind of wine buff but to stop that happening.

I had met her before and ppm was agreed, after reading others stories here I just through meeting early and going out into the mix and very happy I did . There was no danger of 400 quid wine or not getting laid after the first meet.

I am guessing you are somewhat younger than me, and that line sums up the struggle I am having taking the plunge with SA, particularly the too young part.
