This is a review of a massage only visit recently as I was unsure if anything else on the cards.

Name:Jasmine Thai Spa - 01383 747 999 (as per site rules no link posted as this has name of street that it’s located on) - a Google search will give you the info you need.

Location:East side of the River Forth in Dunfermline

Booking:Phoned the landline number (aforementioned) on the ad and a female with ok English answered and appointment made for late afternoon that same day as they’re open until 8pm most days.

Price / Duration:4-hand massage for 1 hour at £85. On their gumtree ad they state a 10% discount but only discovered after I left that I didn’t get this.

Types of Massage:I opted for medium massage with hot stones.

Summary:They’ve a website and a gumtree ad with photos of them which are certainly accurate and the females who gave me the massage.

On arrival the younger one (right hand side of gumtree photo) got me to fill out some forms. The other older woman took me to the room with 2 massage tables and she said to take clothes off and lie facedown on the bed.

I asked if I should take everything off including underwear and she said “it’s up to you” so went nude and thought maybe something more on the cards.

The older one came back in and I was standing nude in front of her and she didn’t bat an eyelid. I lay down and the other one came in and put a towel over me and did the usual patting down. Towel then taken off with my legs being parted further and massage started with lots of oil on the back and legs occasionally asking if everything fine and if massage strength good.

They then got the hot stones and rubbed these over my back and placed a couple on the “tension” areas of the shoulder. They then rubbed the stones over my buttocks which was a new experience. So I began to hope more was on the cards. They did also concentrate on my buttocks and inner thighs but no subtle sweeps.

When asked to turn over they had hung the towel up then lay on my back. I said they can remove towel as I’m not that shy but younger one said that they were and laughed.

So partially covered then massaged again and when patted down there was a quick pat of my shaft. I then thought maybe this is when they ask the usual question but this never came.

The younger one left the room and the older one finished off my shoulders. I then stood and totally nude in front of the older woman who started to chat and didn’t seem bothered that I was nude in front of her.

But nothing else offered and i did not ask so methinks maybe nothing else on the cards at this place.

It was a decent massage.

The older one is apparently good at sports massage so next time I’m through that way I might get her on her own and see if she offers anything more.

I keep looking at this with the hope something would appear, my worry is where they are is right by the taxi rank at the ballroom?

Is it sign written? I know a lot of taxi drivers in dunfermline

There’s a sign of some sort on the fence outside as I was in the town at the weekend so took a wander past

The doorway is on the corner and a sign but not very big. If you’re not looking for the sign then you’ll miss it.

The sign is a canvas type on railings. If your not looking for it then you probably wouldn’t notice it. Taxi drivers half the time are looking down at their phones etc. Pretty discreet really up stairs.

I honestly didn’t see any taxis parked there but as said if you don’t know it’s there you’d miss the entrance. It opposite the doorway to the big BHF furniture shop.

It’s a buzzer entry and you don’t normally have to wait as buzzed in straight away. In this occasion the main door to the close was open.

I questioned this before when another legit massage review was posted a while back. Was told fine and well within rules.

I find it totally pointless. Just tagging some info onto the massage threads would be better. I would also say legit type shops would be best not actually reviewed even if there was extras. Exception IMO being shite Chinese massage shops that are only really about the extra cash.

If there were 'extras', that's fine by me. If there weren't, it's just a massage and a review would be more suited to not allowed than here.

I’d say actual reviews might just be about the best way to stop extras or chances of extras at more legit type places. For example a lot of Thais know each other so a Thai WG might see a review here and before you know it the shop owner sees it and flushes out the opportunist.

Bit of info tucked into massage threads the best bet otherwise you’re just outing what is probably generally a legit shop.

I agree, reviewing a legit place with no extras...actually raises more questions than it answers

Other than the two Chinese massage places the shops in Edinburgh are all generally totally legit. A pity but true.

It would appear that it’s damned if you do and damned if you don’t with regards some aspects of this site.

I had mentioned a massage place I had went to in the general massage thread but then got asked where was my review. In this instance I put up a review (which is well within site rules) but at least 4 comments Questioning whether it should be a review.

In my opinion if members feel that the site rules should be changed so that “massage” reviews which turn out to be legit places should not be allowed. Then they should petition the moderators or the powers that be for this site to amend the site rules accordingly.

Further if it’s a massage place that’s never been “reviewed” or visited by site members the how can one know it’s a legit place to not.

But you live and learn and comments / feedback from the “regulars” are good to hear as you can then become a better reviewer so to speak.

I suppose the site rules don’t take into consideration the existence of the massage/FBSM threads where you can tag on to and mention experiences at shops legit or otherwise. To answer your question doing that guides other UKP members. I see you’ve posted at length on both the massage threads about this shop as well as the long review. Especially on the basis of no extras surely you can see not a lot of relevance here in the review as well (even if within rules)? Unless I’m missing it I don’t actually see anyone asking you to do an actual review either?

As Name Not Found says, a legit review would be as well on not allowed. I had a scalp massage at the hairdressers recently. Pretty sure the punters here not wanting a review about it

No harm done Trickus. Not sure a review was appropriate or necessary, but how were you to know?

Just don’t make the same mistake again as the clientele on here are partial to a bit of name calling every now and again (myself included)
