Like a lot of old timers on here I started out my punting career down the harbour. Back then there was the odd skank but a lot of older birds just trying to make a bit of extra cash.

However then along came the internet and, as far as I knew, the RLD all but dissapeared. With various developments in the area it became a lot more of a public area. You would still see the odd toothless junkie when passing en route to the beach but I personally have not seen for a long time. Aye not that I have been cruising round looking just in the passing.

Anyway was heading down to the beach the other night. Was around 18:30 and sun was shining. Got the shock of my life as I seen 3 working girls standing around some of the old haunts. Was on my own in car so got the customary stare/smile so was def working girls. Thing was I would say only 1 of the 3 were obvious junkies. If I was to guess I would say the other 2 looked EE. Had to double look as couldnt quite believe my eyes.

Surely street girls in Aberdeen is dead?? There was cars everywhere and quite a few members of public. Seemed odd. Anyone else seen an influx of new street girls lately? I cant even think of where they would go at half 6 on a Summers night.

I remember working in Aberdeen in the 90's and a few of us went to the pictures after work. When we came out it was a lovely summers day and only 7.00'ish.

Being new to Aberdeen I was flabbergasted as the hookers were out in droves. I'd seen them in Glasgow plenty. but never so many and certainly not at 7.00pm.

Thing with Aberdeen in the summer is its light so late it makes it seem like they are out in the middle of the day.

Had assumed with all the new build in that direction they had moved on

No, you can blame Police Scotland for that and their puritanical West Coast views.
