Author Topic: Punting Tool - RingGo app  (Read 1252 times)

Hi guys,

As we know in Nottingham, most of the girls in the city centre are in locations where free parking can be tricky. One of my bug bears was having to find change to sort parking out for a punt.

Well I downloaded the RingGo app and basically you can park on any road, where there's a parking meter, and the app will automatically know where you've parked and take the nominal parking fee from your card via the app.

So you can literally park up, call your WG to check if she's ready and then with a couple of clicks sort out parking..... and then head off on your merry way to park your cock into whatever WG you've booked.

Sorry if this is common knowledge but it's new to me so I thought I'd share.

If it is common knowledge, well I guess I've wasted my time in sharing!

I've used it generally and is very good around Notts just the dial the number and it recognises your location, just confirm last 3 digits and away you go.

Whilst it is great, not always easy/convenient to use such apps.

Some members may have registered their Business Card with the App, in which case you would need to explain to your line manager/accounts department which client you went to see in that area at that time?

Also, if you have registered your personal card/bank account, you may still have to explain to your OH your reason for visiting Nottingham on that day?

The app texts your phone when you only have 10 minutes remaining. You have the option to extend the parking duration so you can extend the punt. I rate it as a good punting tool. Another one I used was TextMe  app that enabled you to have a fake mobile number to make and receive calls.

Yes, that's very handy. I have used it to extend parking when out shopping or when at the hospital and the appointment has taken longer than envisaged.

You can register a couple of cards and choose each time.  So business and personal.

Agree that it is another way that you can be tracked and only to be used if you have a reason to be there!!

Derby doesn't have many spots where you can use it, if at all...  and it's a nuisance to scramble for change ...

Does the text me app really work is it as good as having a separate punting phone  ;)

No it's not perfect. It certainly gives you a regular looking mobile number. The calls use data or wifi but during some calls one side could not be heard. Some WGs couldn't return calls to my phantom number. I think that their phone settings thought my number was a premium number in disguise. I stopped using TextMe but there are similar looking apps that others may recommend.

There is nothing better than a simple burner phone/sim.
