I decided to have my first punt since early summer, so called Alexia Ventura as she looks hot, and there is a positive review on here.

The initial coms were positive. She answered the phone, we agreed a time, then she sent a text message with the post code and her prices.

The post code is in the city centre, near Central Station. Where things went wrong is that when I texted to tell her her I was on the street at the post code she had given me, she messaged me asking me to call her. When I called her she was unable to explain to me exactly where she was located. I must have been within 30 yards of where she wanted me to go, as I could see everything she was telling me her place was near, such as Enterprise Rent A Car, and the NCP Car Park. I don't know why she couldn't / wouldn't just tell me the street number.

She is a non native English speaker and it wasn't particularly easy to hear exactly what she was saying. especially standing on the street with the background noises. It sounded like she wanted me to look for a big gate, or a pink gate. However, I could see neither of those things.

When I tried to explain exactly where I was, which was outside where I thought she probably was, as it looked like the door to serviced apartments, she just got angry, and told me to listen, and not talk.

As she started to sound  angrier and angrier without actually being able to tell me the door number, or the exact location of where I was to go, I realised that this was unlikely to be a good punt should I actually find her. However, an arrangement is an arrangement and I wasn't going to back out.

I tried to explain that I really was trying to find her, if she could tell me a door number or explain somewhere that I could see. I was feeling pretty vulnerable standing out in the dark street on my phone, and I had already been approached by a couple of junkies asking for money.

She just kept repeating about a big gate, or pink gate, then went into an incoherent rant and hung up on me. I breathed a sigh of relief, blocked her number, and headed home to look for a plan B.

It really pisses me off when they do that.

Just give me the FUCKING PROPER ADDRESS.

I'm pretty sure I know where he's talking about, and it does need pretty clear and precise directions, whether that be by text or call... And once located, a number certainly helps...

You go through the big gate ,
Then smash the pink gate  :wackogirl:

I understand there's a need for safety but is there more to why WGs are so coy with their addresses or is it just that?

It's not exactly the safest of professions (sadly) but I feel it's such a pain to be in the dark about where to go, doing what OP said wandering around in the dark etc :/

My guess is, one of the reasons would be, if they give out the address too early and their booking(s) are running behind schedule, there is a possibility a punter will turn up at the door/close while the previous client is still there...

Believe it or not, some punters are stupid enough to not text on arrival to see if the WG is ready, therefore if they have the address or flat/hotel room number there could be a crossing of paths with another punter...This exact situation happened to me with a WG, which I reviewed... :wackogirl:

I know where she means, there is in fact a gate as you walk down from Argyll street towards the Clyde.

The number for the flats is not actually on the road but you must go through the gate into a square. There you see a row of doors with the street number accordingly.

Don't know how you didn't see the gate, it's massive and a thoroughfare to the road behind.

I've just had a look at Google steetview, and I now see the gate. It did take me a couple of minutes to spot it though. It was exactly where I was standing at the time, looking in all directions for a big gate.

I guess at the time, it was a dark, wet night. I was standing in the street talking into my ohone, with people looking at me. I had already had to bat away a couple of junkies approaching me for money.

Then there is the perception of size. By "big gate", I was looking for something much bigger that what I would class as the normal size gate that is there. Also, had she calmly told me where it was rather than getting aggressive and angry, it would have been much easier to spot.

If I was giving the directions, I would tell people to look for a gate right next to the traffic lights, directly across the road from Enterprise Rent A Car, that leads through to a block of flats.

If you report your post and give the reason why, it'll be easier for someone with access to spot it rather than just coming across it.
