whilst french/arabic was the majority i did just fine with english and mime 

there usually at least one person in every establishment that speaks English albeit broken at times, i asked my driver about this and he said due to high unemployment rates the more multilingual you are the more chances of getting a job.

Currently in Marrakesh and after reading this thread decided to go to Guelliz after a meal. Got there at 23:30 and giving that its a weekday it wasn’t that busy.
