the guys around starbucks with ear pieces are security. I have approached and talked to girls infront of them and they dont say anything. I have chatted to them they are no problem. To be honest i feel safer with them around.

Never had any hassle from Security, Police etc.

The truth is probably far simpler,  the're just looking out for the tourists. If tourists get scammed or pick pocketed at there establishment, it's bad publicity. :unknown:

Head down south guys
Direct flights from Luton and Stansted
£40 upwards

I would have thought having to travel from the North or Scotland to 'dahn saaf' is a major pain in the arse. It must add another day to travel and/or the cost of a hotel.
It takes about 12 hours travel door to door even living within an hour of Stansted.

Offline nike

Travelling down to London is a major pain in the butt. I've done it a few times , albeit never from Stanstead.

It's the connecting flights on the way back, which cause the problems.

4hr plus drive down south especially with all the crappy road works and 50mph zones

Cost of fuel plus cost of parking for a week or however long your going then your better of getting connecting flights

Just back from trip...Its possible to get what you want but it can be pretty hard & exhausting at times.

At macdonalds cafes etc the security guard is watching you, made me feel inconvenient to say the least.

There is Armed police on street, not sure whats going to happen if they see you approaching a local.

Somehow there are a lot of men\guys on street & they are all watching  you because they realise you are a tourist & may be realise what you are after.

Guys(addicts), middle age women with small kids begging for money,  they harass you a lot.

The discotheques(doesnt start till midnight) & are way too noisy,  smoke, alcohol.... It was a torture to stay there.

Bouncers wont let them out without a bribe 100 at least. Mate was not allowed to take them out at least till 3am even after bribing.

Pay higher fares to taxi. He can tip off authorities if he chooses to.

Pay apartment security. He can tip off authorities if he chooses to.

Expensive apartment cost 900 per night for 2 bed with internet.

Pay them taxi fare for return journey.

Your valuables might go missing.

They will try their best not to provide what was agreed & to get more money with lies etc etc.  Desperate to get out as soon as possible.

Majority of them have not used protection in past, so even if you are, your risks are higher than usual.

While coming back to UK at airport, there were some security\police who were asking phishing questions...where you stayed, purpose of visit, how much cash you are carrying...just seemed they wanted something out of you....& it was several of them interested together.

The country is unsafe in general. Things can take a turn for worse at any time.

Unfortunately these things were a big turn off for me. Not worth the hassle for me.

security guards are just doing ther jobs, as long as you are discreet you should not have any problems. Im sure the other guys can vouch for that.

men watching on the streets welcome to a tourist city this is what people do especially in marrakech they chill out in cafes and watch the world go by.

Beggars harass you no doubt but you just got to say no and move forward they will eventually leave you.

discotheques are noisy, full of alcohol and smoke hahaha are serious man   :dash: what was you expecting it to be as peaceful as a spa  :D

if you had bothered to read what was written on this forum it would have explained what happens when you leave with WGS in a nightclub.

them trying to pull a fast one is down to you asserting your authority but before you go down that route you make everything clear to them and tell them what your going to and what you expect in return. I dont doubt you will have a bad experience but you cant write off Marrakesh on that basis.

majority have not used protection well risk are always higher with any working girl and if you have such an issue with that then i would suggest you stop punting because your not going to be certain with any wgs in any part of the world to be clean or of low risk.

so security at airport decide to ask you questions so what lol i travel a lot thanks to my job majority of the time i always get questioned i answer and carry on no big deal.

The country is unsafe in general ? would you care to explain what you mean by this because

because that is a load of crap, i have never felt unsafe and im sure other fellow punters would say the same .

Morocco is one of the safest places to travel, but as with all places, never know what's going to happen next, just look at what's happening in our part of the world. The security/police guys won't be too bothered with tourists and their antics, it's the countries bread and butter, they may arrest or harass the girl.

I prefer the heightened security, it reassures the travelled and taking into account what happened in Tunisia and Egypt, can you blame the guys for looking out for the tourists?

Yes it's a bit of leg work, and if you are the shy type, you are going to find the trip a bit difficult and I would suggest that you stick with the spas.

900dhs expensive haha I guess he is comparing the prices to the hotels. But he fails to understand that the going rate for apartment varies but 900 for two bedroom is a very good price especially being guest friendly.

I can sympathise with your opinions and experiences of Marrakech kaam.urja.

900DH is good price for a flat. You didn't say how far way from the Plaza it is, but if it's within 2 miles I'd say that's good. (pm us the details?)
The clubs are fucking loud. You can do what Mrkhan does and collect numbers for the next day which I thought was a good idea. Personally I love the Maroc music especially the chabbi/trad stuff when a woman is singing.

Taxis are a pain in the arse. When I was out with the prossie from Tangers she would walk down the street with me away from the club. Then I'd stop a cab driving past, and bundle into it. This was to avoid the 'club taxis'. Although outside African Chic they followed us and had a blazing row with the prossie, because we wern't using their cabs. Even she as a Moroccan lass was getting pissed off with being ripped off.

Locals hassling is par for the course. I found it hard to handle on my first trip. On the second I didn't get as much bother, reply in english and don't stop walking.

And Gueliz is very safe. I'm a small man and I had no trouble walking back to the flat at 04:30. Probably a different story in the Medina but you wouldn't want to stay there anyway.

Hi Guys,

Been Marrakesh 4 Times, always great. Fittest girls are out there and not many people know about it so its untapped teritory.

Get an apartment. Otherswise you're paying bribes out the ear.

Never ride in a taxi with the girl. Give her the address and tell her to meet you there or follow in a seperate cab. Had a bad experience with the police and dodgy cab drivers.

Geuliz and Hivernage have the top girls. The caberet clubs have arabic live music and shisha. Monte Cristo is full of fit girls, Africa Chic is good but the girls are not all that. Theatro is good, but the music is too loud.

Hey Guys,

The last 4 times I have always been in a group of six guys +. So it was dificult arranging an apartment. We stayed in Kenzi Samarmis and the Kenzi Farah. The thing is I lost my phone and all my contacts because the last time I went was 3 years ago for my mates stag.

This time I need an apartment, becuase paying bribes for doormans and dodgy taxi drivers (who tried to get us nab by the police, lucky I shoved my money in my shoe) is not good and puts the price up.

The samarais has a caberet club, lots of fit chicks. We used to rent a room at the hotel next door to take the girls for the night. Manager was all right.

Most hotels though its really tough trying to bring a chick back. Some wont accept a bribe no matter what.

Africa chic is good, but if your there more than 2 nights the girls are all over you like a piece of meat. Because they know what your there for.

Monte Cristo is the one, the girls are fit.

Theres another caberet club in the hivernage, got alot of fit girls from there.

I always start the night off near the casino, and then go from there. Lots of nice clubs and bars from around there.

Picking up girls, you just need your mobile phone. Introduce yourslef, if she's on it she'll take your phone to punch in the price. Then you haggle. In the caberet I normally ask them if they want a drink (the thing is most of them don't touch alcohol so its a coke or redbull cheap round. However they love Shisha).

I got a contact on homeaway. But I don't trust them. Becuase he could just be telling me what I want to hear. Get down there and find security is being difficult. End up loseing the money.

I got a hotel booked, but need a shag pad apartment.

If I get a nice apartment, then will leave the hotel.

Theres 6 of us going again.

Guys if you can help me out it would be very much appreciated.

Stayed in a riad before, it was shite. Paid for a week but left the next morning.

Im staying this time at the Opera Plaza Hotel but need an apartment for the extra activites.

Was gonna get a villa but they were a distance away from the action, plus they didnt get back to us regarding bringing guest. Some replied flat out no.

I'm going for 7 days, Sunday to Sunday.

I'm in the same boat as you. 6 of us going and need a WG friendly place to stay.

We're getting desperate now and are about to book a riad. But you've put me off now. Why was it so shite? Found a decent looking 6 bedroom one and I think at the moment we are just going to have to hope that we can get girls in.

All 6 of us are going for the first time so we are totally clueless.

Any help with a contact that can find us accommodation is much appreciated.

Hey TopStar,

The thing about Riads is that they are in the medina. Our one was like a walk deep inside down some alley. Plus there was multiple security in the medina (security means some guys they pay to keep an eye out on the place) but you'll still need to get past them and might have to bribe them.

Our Riad was old and not what I would want on holiday. They had a splash pool, but on closer inspection had leeches. Some rooms didnt have proper lighting and hot water.

But the main thing bringing back girls, all Riads have staff staying there on site. It's difficult if there are 6 of you.

The main action is that you want to be in area of Gueliz and Hivernage.

What dates are you heading out.

Don't panick you got plenty of time to arrange something.

If you pick up girls, you have a few options.

IF you booked a hotel, check before hand with your hotel to see if they will accept girls back to the room. Be honest and straight with them.  One thing to note is the receptionist you speak too during the day wont be the same person thats there overnight. So find out who it is and asked them. You'll also have to pay the doorman. 100 dhirms or more each. Adds up if there are 6 of you.

They other option is that if you pick up a girl or you all do. The girls will ask where you are staying and if you have an apartment. Ask them to arrange an apartment for you and your mates for the night. It'll cost like 500+. These girls are all connected.

When walking around before hitting the bars, I alway ask the receptionist at nearby hotels if they will allow girls to there rooms. It's costly paying for a room for the night. But at least your not struggling at 3am trying to arrange a place for you and the chick.

IF you don't get any contacts before flying out. Don't worry.

If you get to Marrakech early in the day. One of the best thing is to asked the Taxi driver if he knows any apartment. Tell him straight, you want to bring girls back. They'll take you to to landlord and then you negotiate. I recommend taking it for one night if all good and you get no hassle then you know you can take it for the rest for your holiday.

These taxi drivers are all connected. The people in Marrakech know whats going on but turn a blind eye.

I hope this helps.

If I get any contacts I'll forward it on.

Offline K09an

Been following this thread for the last couple months and just finished reading it.
Great info and tips - it answered a lot of questions that I had having visited Marrakech and not understanding how it all works.

I was staying at a villa which had a gated entry point - bringing any guests was out of the question, so for those interested, my very limited experience of Morocco just composed of hamaams and massages with owo bj to finish...

All of the places we visited were at Jemaa el Fna, and if you're a tourist then you'll get approached and offered help obviously in return for a tip. We asked the locals where to go for hamaam it seemed each person had their affiliation to one place. I know some posts on here have they've been to a couple of hamaams but they weren't offered anything afterwards, well not wanting to make that mistake, we specified to those giving us directions that we wanted extras, or as they liked to call it "jiggy jiggy".  :yahoo:

Now on the first day we arrived quite late and a lot of the massage places were closing. We were suggested a few different places and actually given a leaflet for one place which wasn't far off the square. We went in and the place seemed very clean. Being the first time for me and my friend we didn't know how much it would be. One of the things that we knew not to do was to discuss with the front of house that we wanted extras. Anyway fast forward after the hamaam and massage and it turned out I had paid 300 and my friend 400. So there definitely isn't a set price and we knew after we still paid a lot...
A side note, none of the girls at this place were head turners imo....(maybe just my standards)

Fast forward a few days and once again in Jemma el Fna, this time we were approached by someone and we said we're looking for a massage. This guy was a mind reader and knew exactly what we wanted. He took us to a Spa which has been mentioned here a few times. They'll give you a menu of different treatments but don't bother. Just ask for an hour massage and a hamaam. Also note the prices are inflated, you want to pay a lot less. We paid 250 dirhams for just the massage (200 more when we got the hamaam) and I've noticed someone on here paid 150 for the massage - a lesson learnt for me also! Anyway this place was good and had a larger selection of girls available than the first, a few of which looked pretttyyyy good. At this place we both paid 300 for the extra.
Second time we returned to this establishment we paid 200 each, and I think of the important points to note is that there isn't really any awkwardness is haggling here - its just done and then you move on so don't worry about it too much.

Also, my mate the cheeky sod also got a bj from the lady giving the hamaam, just before he got the massage....if you don't ask you don't get...

Other points to mention, I always noticed the amount of girls at McDonalds just sat there and it was clear why but we never really understood how it worked and how people would approach them, which is where this thread has filled in the gaps!

One day leaving McDonalds we did get approached by someone offering us a girl and he said 1000 dirhams for the night. We explained we had a problem with accomodation and so he said 2000 with apartment. Being newbies to the game in Marrakech we walked away from this one....haven't read any posts on this thread about people approaching them offering girls - anyone had any experience with this?

Returning to Morocco next month but sadly won't be able to punt - might try and sneak in a quick massage haha  :dash:

Sorry for the limited contribution but just sharing my experience!   :)
