A few months ago a massage shop got busted after a journalist picked up a lead from a not allowed discussion about said massage shop and reviews of extras in unnamed review website . Similar story about Chelsea Cloisters a few weeks ago. Today there was a story about undercover Council officer being offered extras at massage shop by Liverpool Street Station. Apparently the shop got targeted following a tip off from someone who read reviews about extras being offered.

I'm surprised that a lot more places arent being raided given the number of detailed reviews on sites like this.

Excellent, let's only comment about HoD, Diva, SAE and Romanian brothels and see what happens.

Your implicit assumption that all raids are reported in the press is wrong. Many aren't, for operational reasons. For instance:
to protect the girls
to avoid alerting other crims still at large
where further related court cases are due
where a decision is taken to deport the crims to their home country and let any prosecutions happen there

Also you have to understand that a lot of local newspapers no longer employ court reporters so a lot of trials (of all types) never get reported. They just send someone along for the really juicy cases. There's no budget to pay for proper court reporting, and to be brutally honest, most of the public don't care

The implication in that report is that there is a commercial "surveillance company" monitoring this and other review sites for tips.
They'll be selling the data they find to councils.

Interesting the report says "one of a string of licences that have not been renewed".......so there must be more that haven't been specified in the press

Case made for eliminating lurkers?

There are a number  of massage shops that are constantly reviewed here. The fact that regulars don't come on here to post that they have been raided or closed down suggests that they are largely being ignored by the authorities as opposed to this happening in the courts but it simply does not get reported.

When I started my punting career agency pictures were girls in swim suits. No tits hanging out. No description of services. Now, it is all there for any punter or vice cop to read.

I suspect that the authorities only get proactive when there is a formal complaint about a venue. They target that venue so the the complainant and media is happy. Then they go back to their business as usual routine

shops open, shops close, usually with no-one noticing.
If a place was raided and closed, only those there at the time would know about it. Unless someone told the press

So what you are saying is that the council and cops are probably raiding all the shops and brothels that none of us know about and ignoring all those regularly reviewed here with prices and services.

Interesting opinion.

No, I'm simply saying that not all raids/busts become public knowledge
Look at that press report reproduced above.........this closure is the latest in "a string of licences that have not been renewed............"
Anyone heard about the other ones?

Nope.  Given the general lack of reporting of the multitude of parlours they could be being rolled/visited by Plod quite often and not reported here.  The priority for Police will be traffickers/abusers and those places causing a visible nuisance to the local community, they and the public prosecutors don't have the manpower to address the entire industry above violent crime, abuse, harassment, robbery and theft amongst other priorities.

As far as I know most of the massage shop raids are because of underage or immigration issues. The sex angle is usually only enforced by the council if/when they get written complaints from neighbours.
