Was just posting a query which I thought was further out in Essex and it got me puzzled as to the correct region to post so thought I'd seek some consensus.

Is London just within the M25?  Only defined by postcodes?  By the span of TfL services?

Where do you think the boundaries of SE and East regions in UKP are?

Why not stick with the “official” definition - the london boroughs are london anything else is SE or whatever

Was asking because postings for some outer London areas  are scattered across E and SE regions.

These might be useful then.

If it's in the Greater London boundary, regardless of whether the place doesn't gave a "proper" London postcode e.g., Romford  "RM", Enfield "EN" etc, it's  a London review.

East would be Cambs, Beds, Norfolk, Suffolk, Herts, ( possibly Essex)

South East would be Kent,  Bucks, East and West Sussex, Surrey ( possibly Essex) :hi:

Of course others will have their own opinions.  :hi:

What is amazing is how many of these places I now know where they are because of punting.  Either because of punts I had, or ones I considered (looking at the location of escorts and deciding , 'no'.)

Just go by the AW areas and give your brain a rest.

This business is riddled with anomaly and surprises, none of which really matter.

Essex is Eastern region.
London is defined by its boroughs.

these are not opinions but geography.

Not quite as simple as that.

Where I live, Hornchurch, was always in Essex ------------------ it is now in The London Borough of Havering, same applies to Upminster and Romford.     :hi:

Correct Jimmy.
Those areas, and many others previously in Essex, Kent, Surrey, Hertfordshire and what used to be Middlesex, have been incorporated into London since 1965.  :hi:

LLP!

We've had this out on here regarding a number of establishments and as the rest of the country seems to respect regional boundaries then so should we.  The cases in point were Zen in Hornchurch (which one poster swears blind is in Essex as it feels like Essex) and also Sawadee in Watford (clearly not London).

I think the rule of thumb is, rather than blather about the M25 or where the tube goes, if you get in shit with the place/prossie you're visiting if it's the Met who turn up then you're in London as in within the boundaries of Greater London/Met area:

So, hop on a tube to Epping to try the TCM there (TOFTT?) it's Essex.

but if someone posts it in the wrong region, it is no big deal.  lets worry about nasty pimps or bad providers - and celebrate good-ens - not worry about fluff.

My only gripe is that I rarely read the SE or East sections (I have a life etc) so may potentially miss out on stuff.

That's my point, people posting about establishments that are in these fringe areas which are actually London (TfL travel zones) but the intel is out of sight in (S)E regions instead.
You can't search for names of places/establishments you don't know exist.
