I find tipping crazy, but there's a big cultural component. In the US it's more common, with all kinds of services, so much so that not doing it is frowned upon. A Brit tipping is EAS, an American doing it, not necessarily!

I have never given gifts. The only thing I could conceive is a small value item which can be a thoughtful gesture. Eg my mechanic really likes an item (not gonna say what it is) which is not available in the UK, the last time I went abroad I got one and brought it to him. At the end of the day, no one knows about this activity of mine. If I haven't told my closest friends, some of whom I have grown up with and I have shared crazy shit with, why would I tell my real name to a WG? Horses for courses, of course, but too risky. I think it could only make sense if you need to pay a WG a large sum for a holiday together, you need to check. In together at hotels etc. Which, frankly, are IMHO more reasons why long dates and holidays with prossies are bad ideas, but to each their own!

Whenever I've swapped ID's it's been a process over time and after a number of meets. Just names first (I've not got an unusual name... hundreds of us around  and I don't have any photos or info on any social media. Checking out the girls on Facebook or LinkedIn gives a good indicator before any further info is disclosed in future meets.
