So I may be situated in Cheltenham for a few months...

Just wondering what it’s like..
Things to do for a single man in his early 30s?
Crime/chav presence?
Friendly people?
And of course... the punting scene?

Any info appreciated

The Cheese shop by the Everyman Theatre is a very good place to go.

Cheltenham is a great town to live in, not much crime or chav issues. Great restaurants and cheese shops

Painting wise there is not much, better off heading down to Bristol.

Lived there for 15 years some years back. It has its rough bits-treat Whaddon and the back streets off Hesters Way with some care.

You could definitely be in worse places, Cheltenham's a pretty good place to live.

There are no more Chav's than your usual mid sized town, and the crime rate is relatively low. There are some nice eateries around, and some fairly good pubs too.

As for punting, it does vary - I'm sure it was better 10 years ago, but I had a lot more disposable income 10 years ago so I was seeing more expensive escorts, and I was actually out of the game for a few years until recently. There is your usual crop of Romanians who I have found to be lacklustre at best, and there is a group of Polish who seem to rotate around various towns that are better (External Link/Members Only) - I have a bit of time this week so I plan to review the ones I've seen.

There are still more expensive girls around but none that I've seen. One that I intend to when I have the £'s is External Link/Members Only in Gloucester who is a former pornstar and well reviewed on here.

Other than that as mentioned above Bristol seemingly has a better selection and I had a couple of decent punts in Birmingham, but again that was a few years back before my recent 're-entry' into punting after a few years hiatus.

On re-reading that's possibly not too helpful, but I tried!

Good for food and drinking, football is shit, lots of festivals.

Punting is pretty dire, I do mainly outcalls these days.

Cheltenham is a bit hit and miss punting wise.

It was pretty awful a few months ago but there does to be the odd reasonable tourer, though no real decent 'resident' whores.

There are a handful of good SPs who visit Cheltenham on a fairly regular basis, so suggest you read the reviews and put the ones you want on your HL, so you can keep tabs of their whereabouts.

I have seen the following and reviewed 2 of the 3:
External Link/Members Only or External Link/Members Only - reviewed, average Plan B

External Link/Members Only or External Link/Members Only+ (inactive atm because on holiday) - decent but pricey at £140 and no longer does 30mins bookings

External Link/Members Only or External Link/Members Only - FAF and quite good, but not much more than that.

I hasten to add that I have NOT seen the following WGs so can't comment though they have been reviewed here, so you will have to read them and make up your own mind.

Its has a fab spa at the greenway hotel

Cheltenham should be a fun place to be for a single chap. The nightlife is ok for a small town - there is always something happening and you should be able to get some civvy action if you are reasonably presentable and prepared to make an effort. Some guys I know who work there and are a similar age did pretty well with local ladies using dating sites.

Punting wise there are not too many good residents. Miss Sophia mentioned earlier is well worth a visit if you can get to see her during the daytime - she has pretty limited availability. There is a steady churn of touring girls many of whom use some quite well known serviced apartments but the problem is you have to plan for this so spur of the moment punting is not really possible unless you are willing to gamble on an EE girl.

There used to be parlours but these disappeared 10+ years ago.

Otherwise going to the races is good fun and there are other things like the jazz, science and literature festivals if that floats your boat.
