Booking discussed and agreed for out call in Bristol  in advance. All seemed good so impressed was I with comms that I made a second booking so would see her on Wednesday and Thursday, in fact Pippa offered to do a 2 hour booking on Thursday for 1hr rate as I was booking her twice for 1.5 and 2 hr bookings.

Concerns were raised when she relocated to Exeter, but was assured she was still doing outcalls in Bristol.

Then received a message to say could we just do one booking on Thursday as she now lives in Exeter and does not want to travel to Bristol two days running. This was however not accurate as she was by now listing incalls in Bristol for the date (and time) we had a booking arranged!

Pippa offered to conduct the Thursday booking only or was available Wednesday evening and apologised saying taking advanced bookings 'was a mistake and she was still learning'. Didn't fancy Wednesday evening, being the last after a busy day of incalls and sent two messages to confirm the Thursday booking. Now I get radio silence, nothing.

Used to being let down, seems to be the done thing now on AW, but this one annoyed me as I was looking forward to this booking, she ticked all the boxes and seemed a nice girl. For some reason started lying to me nearer to the booking then ignoring messages alltogether.

I had read the concerns of other posters on here beforehand (having already arranged bookings at that point) and decided to keep my booking on the basis of good comms to that point, a big mistake.

If she cannot cope with advanced bookings she should stop, I and many others make on the day bookings all the time.

You've acknowledged the mistake and will be adjusting and you should be given more credit for that.

Maybe you should have mentioned that then as you said. I sent my initial message explaining that I had returned from punting retirement and you were complimentary to this. Not once did you raise this as an issue. This was not mentioned at the time of booking and not stipulated on your profile until after we had exchanged a few emails and agreed the bookings. I sent two unanswered messages this week and yes, sure this could have been cleared up as I would have still met with you that you responded to acknowledge the booking for today.

I just wished you could have been honest with me and not leave me in limbo. You seem a nice girl, judging by your earlier messages and those who have met you seem to have had a great time. Maybe just avoid advance bookings and organise yourself day to day, but what do i know.

This is a very sad tale.  So much interest that Pippa was overwhelmed by it all and couldn't keep up with it.  It is a shame Pippa doesn't have a PA to look after her bookings, as with so much interest, her idea of working one week and then one week off would have seen many punters visiting her and giving her some financial security for her family and herself.

I say the following guessing full well that I don't know the various complexities involved; however, if one earns more in a productive working day than most people do in a week, then getting some help surely makes sound business sense.

Task rabbit wouldn't cut it, clearly, but something like it might, on a more personal level and there are plenty of other angles to find a fairly organised person who can spam replies to enquiries, manage a diary and all of the other stuff that means many WG's spend as much time struggling to co-ordinate customer admin as they do rogering.

Freed up to do the actual money-accruing stuff, daily earnings more than compensate for the extra expense. We know it works in principle because agencies exist - the compromise being that girls lose 30-60% of their earnings depending on their pulling power. But what would a day's competent admin help cost? £150-£180? And what % might that represent of a good WG's optimised and organised daily capacity - 15 or 20%?

Yes there'd be risk, and there'd still be mess-ups - and the fact that so few indies do it, is probably some sort of testament that it struggles to work in practice. Nevertheless...

Thoughts? Especially those beyond the "prossies just can't do anything" variety.

Why couldn't you screen them? Would a personally vetted receptionist/screener not be capable of being trained? (they are with agencies)
I don't mean this as an agressive challenge, but the screening process (assuming it was yours) for the last two neg. clients hardly worked out much better did it? In that a/ it seemed to take a lot of unproductive effort in both cases b/ the resulting comms still appeared to be confused.

He was the only non feedbacker I agreed to do a booking with because I knew he was a member here. And at the beginning I was a little naive.

He booked me within the first few weeks of me working (thats how far in advance it was).

My screening had obviously changed since then.

It creates issues before and after a booking and it causes unnecessary pressure.
This site is EXTREMELY useful when used correctly but it seems some users like to use it for leverage and control.

One review can ruin someones livilihood in a matter of hours, but it can also give them a huge boost business wise.
Such a powerful tool to dangle over someones head.
