It sounds more like you'd rather have the reports of you letting people down, stifled, rather than simply take it on the chin and improve your service.

Because they were already put here and I am defending myself because I’m being made to sound pretty damn awful.  I’m not the kind of person that would make up that someone I love is dieing and I didn’t want to see it on here. Neither poster meant any harm I know that and I know I’m in the wrong, I should be more organised whatevers going on  but yes it did upset me to see things on here that were personal but that’s my own fault for not keeping it to myself. She didn't even give herself a "proper" excuse for not warning them/not cancelling (even if just at the last minute). Whenever my employees have had family emergencies (which seems to happen literally 1000 times more to WGs than it does to anyone else I know) they've always been able to warn me/let me know they can't come in (even if it was due to a death - which has happened once in about 6 years whereas I've been told about the deaths of 3 WG family members in just the past 6 months -  1 did cancel but the 2 others used it as their excuse for no showing/radio silence).

Waiting till you are ready and at your work location sorted before accepting appointments will take the pressure and stress off you if your'e genuinely going through a hard time, and will also avoid mishaps like this.

It's easy to just think of the bucks, but being honest with yourself and realistic about your situation is better.

People will appreciate you being genuine and saying you can't commit to an appointment in advance. That comes across as you being professional and not biting off more than you can chew.  Other WGs regularly text back and say they will get back to you when they are organized and sorted....that's definitely better than messing people about.
