Apologies if this is a daft question, but does anyone know what has happened to the 'Craigslist - Casual Encounters' section?

Is its (apparent) removal something to do with the Data Protection Act? (my best guess, at present).

I think it's Craigslist covering themselves against sex traffiking laws about to be signed off in the US.Craigslist is US owned.
Shame really.That section was one of the most used.Some crazy horses on there mind.

Thanks. Yes as you say, some crazy horses on it but the odd gem buried amongst the turds!

I kind of wonder then, now that C/list has been de-commissioned for WGs, whether we might now see more profiles appearing on the likes of AW and Viva Street (or, indeed, given the usual quality on C/L, on the actual street!).

Maybe so.But i've noticed they are just using other sections of CL to advertise. Minus the explicit pics.I don't think there's a long term future in it.AW is the place to go.

Fuck me! You're right - nearly every section of C/l has blatant sex ads in it! Including 'Real Estate' and 'Legal Services'!

How effective that legislation was then ....

Just Craig Newmark, the owner, making sure he doesn't get nicked, as has happened to the Backpage mob. All following the passing of the FOSTA. The other sections of C/L are already being scrutinised - in the USA they've been, pretty much, scrubbed clean.

Yes,took a look on it tonight.They had obviously prepared for people to try and get round it by posting on other sections.
They seem to be removing them almost as fast as they are posted.It's definitely dead in the water now.

Most of the ads there are fake. You'd be better off with Vivastreet or AdultWork.com, because at least you can look at feedback (usually).

Has anyone found a good alternative to the CL casual encounters pages? There were always one or two gems in amongst all the shite on there.

I know some moved to uk classified but that’s a bloody frustrating site to try and search on your mobile and you have to wade through some very old ads.
