if a girl does something extra, but doesnt ask for payment, i will tip 10£, you could of course call that a payment, i have found in life, being cheap or mean often costs you more.
10£ doesn’t sound outlandish on a
tangible extra — for instance OWO when it is normally completely off the cards (so wouldn’t apply to BSS, where it is included); my personal objection is tipping just because a prossie gives good service: she’s
paid to give good service for goodness sake, otherwise what’s the point of seeing her at all?
Too much tipping — an American addiction — just puts prices up for everyone when the tipping becomes ‘expected’.
On being cheap.
I’d never consider myself cheap: yet I expect value for money. In business, I also find that it usually is wealthy people who drive the hard bargain. Many of them didn’t get to be that way by throwing money at people. In the real world of fixed prices, one is assumed to be able to afford something one really wants, hence the saying, “If you have to ask the price, you can’t afford it”. But such rules do not work in prossieland any more than they do in the double-glazing market!
