Why do some parlours charge a room fee payable to the receptionist, then you pay the girl direct to her in the room?
The only thing I can think of is that its some way of getting round the brothel laws.

The parlour keeps all of the room fee, say £20 for half hour.
The girl makes what you give her in the room, say £30 plus extras.
The girl also has to pay a set fee for the room "Hire" , and a fee to the runner/maid.

I tend to prefer Indies these days rather than paying parlour pimps.

1- The fee is paid to reception for the use of the premises only. The owner is responsible for taxes.
2- The fee is paid to the escort for services rendered and for which she is tax responsible herself.
3- The ladies are 'self employed' and set their own working hours -  the parlour owner does not get involved in handling the ladies cash at all.
4- The ladies pay the owner rent, from their earnings, for use of the room and other facilities provided.

That's my best guess

Not a case of right or wrong but apart from at sex parties I have always paid the WG in parlours/brothels who leaves the room and gives her cut to the pimp or the pimps maid and stashes the rest.

What the fuck are you talking about tax for, ask either the business or the girl about her tax ref number, and perhaps the business should be registered for VAT, seriously tax is just not something they get involved in

Indeed, its got nothing to do with getting round brothel laws as it doesn't do that, and its got fuck all to do with tax, if anyone really thinks your local brothel pimp is paying tax get real. They are running an illegal business and then go and register with HMRC, yeah that's going to happen, not.

Some the girls keep count of number of customers & getr paid at end of shift means girls don't leave money lying around to miss place

Back in the old days, all parlours charged a door fee. The girl would show you to the room, give you a massage of varying quality, and then let you know what "extras" were available, a kind of "menu" ranging from HR, topless HR etc all the way up to full sex. The prices were on a sliding scale. I think that the "all in" pricing system is relatively new.

Not in my punting area in London they didn't, only saunas charged a door fee, I have always paid the WG direct not the pimp or maid/receptionist except for at sex parties. The norm was a sliding scale of prices as you say, the idea was if I only wanted a fuck I would pay less than if I wanted OW as well for example, OWO wasn't on offer as wasn't kissing in those days from most WGs. The all in pricing came in in my area from about the late-90s-early00s when EE WGs started coming to my area in big numbers and most offered OWO and kissing for less than Brit WGs who didn't offer either. Many Brit WGs soon followed suit.

Seems to me that you just might be punting in the wrong neck of the woods. Back in the 1980s, at least in Manchester, saunas became synonymous with brothels, especially when they advertised in the personal services section of the MEN. What did they call them in your punting area of London? I certainly remember having one of my first ever punts in the Paddington area at a place that called itself a "health club".

I noticed a change from Sauna with entry fee, towel and locker key for massage with extras, to then paying for time with a particular girl in a room  coincided with girls details being posted on the then relatively new internet.
I don't dispute the massage parlours/saunas probably still exist but they are no longer for me.
