Yes, this was unfortunate. Plan A let me down at the last minute. Since I had travelled some distance I elected to find a Plan B on the hoof, and didn't do the recommended AW searches that I would normally do. If I had seen Norfolkman's review I would have given "her" a miss. Having read his review, I now feel that my suspicions are confirmed and I will shortly be entering into a monastery for a prolonged period of reflection, silence, celibacy and self flagellation.

My reviews history has 8 negs out of 17, partly because I am willing to TOFTT occasionally. There are quite a few neutrals. Maybe I am difficult to please, but I simply ask whether I would spend that money again for the same service before giving a positive. If in doubt I go neutral.

One other thing. My review history is not the total of my punting experience. I think it's important to warn others about shit service, which will save other punters money and drive out the rip off artists. However, I don't always post my local positives. Reasons being: they become difficult to book, their prices go up, there are too many lurkers here who contribute nothing at all. Why should they benefit to my disadvantage when I post a positive? I do post positives for wgs I am probably not going to see again for geographical reasons.
I appreciate that I do benefit from other peoples positives reports, but sometimes my experience of acting on other peoples recommendations is that they have been too generous with positives. I have benefitted from some absolute gems as a consequence of recommendations here, and from now on I will be happy to share my positive recommendations with punters in my area, who contribute well.
