Just been made aware by another that Olina (and possibly other Asian agencies because I'm convinced AO and AS are part of the same crew but happy for definitive intel to state otherwise) keep a record of all the booking texts they've sent you.

Wonder if they're going to be GDPR compliant.

It is better to start from the outlook that every message, in whatever form, is retained by any service provider you have had contact with.

Offline Ozy84

Olina and Asian Options are 1000% the same operation by their own admission.

Asian selection i am pretty sure are not part of that setup just from the girls they advertise.

Olina must be investing in a larger hard drive then! That is probably how they know who to offer discounts to although dont really buy that now. Nothing on website to suggest discounts. I do know having used them that all my punts are £150 and i dont review.

Having booked through Asian Selection they also say £140 now.

Offline Bassman

Since they offer discounts they are probably linking your username here to your number also.

As stated above, you are at risk of this from any WG really.

Whilst that may be true, indies don't usually hang around for very long and once numbers are abandoned or traded on the risk is not so great.

Agencies that persist for years are a different level of risk, especially if they're retaining the info in a PC or cloud-based messaging system rather than just a phone.  It's one thing for people to be pissed off about UBER covering up the loss of 57 million cab users, it's a whole other thing for thousands of punters to have their punting history exploited.

What is the cheapest phone to use as a punting phone?

Nokia 3350 or its type cost you about 10-15 quid ... get a tesco sim card ( free if you buy a top up at the same time)

Another Oriental outfit who keeps your number & texts you randomly if they don't see you in about a week is Yoko Massage at Red Lion Sq in Holborn.

I'm surprised you need a punting phone as in 2 years you've not done a review. How about sharing some of your punts with us so the forum can be better informed, as indeed you are.  :hi:

Just be very certain that it has been fully wiped before using it a a punting phone, especially if it is a smart phone as any apps will gather the phone number an align it with you.

I use an old smart phone and never wiped it before using, whats sort of information will it link? Just wondering whether I should now wipe the phone and then get a new sim/number.

Offline Topkat

I use an old Nokia, they last forever, basic phone with no trail
On Vodafone, free SIM with £5 PAYG means you can throw SIM away and start again if needed ;)

No doubt

Was almost tempted to break the rule and use my civvy phone today. Found myself with a couple of hours to spare, looked up some WG’s local to the area I was in. Couple of emails were sent, couple back asking to call. Realised I’d left my punting phone behind! Tempted but didn’t go ahead with the civvy phone but thankfully I saw the light!

How is phone number and name on here linked?

I was warned recently by one shop that another shop had had their phones taken away by the authorities following an immigration raid.

In any case, I only use my phone to contact shops which are for all intents and purposes providing legitimate services to men and women, so GDPR doesn't affect me.

Bigger fish to fry, but I wouldn't doubt some symbolic activity.

One shop staff told me the Soho shops were asking for it, largely as they were blatant but also in that they created pissed off whistle-blowers by treating their staff so crap (as in pay and shifts).

Loi a ask for reviews to be left here. For a discount on future bookings. Since they are keeping records, it wouldn’t be hard to work out who you are from your review depending on the detail etc.

That is a mis-guided assumption; From the various stories that have surfaced over the years, independents are the more inclined to black-mail.

DO NOT TRUST ANY SP with personal details - not if you have either a personal or public life to protect.

Point taken.  My focus had been on the exploitation of accumulated history by others who weren't part of the original dealings.  Certainly opportunist SPs or Agency staff are a risk but perhaps a lower class of nastiness than say an organised crime syndicate or hacker collective who have either/both greater nous and muscle to ensure victims pay and/or suffer.

True.

I think everyone should be careful to avoid letting their guard down, ever if the SP seems on the surface of it to genuine and reliable.

Offline Matsuri

I could be wrong, but I think Hot Collection keep info to. They seemed to know I'd visited someone previously when I arranged an appointment months later.

Punting phone is essential, IMO. Good to keep this side of your life in a certain private compartment. Remember to delete sent texts as well as texts you receive!

Saw this article today and it's something we probably expected but is now a further strong reason to ensure you completely separate your real and punting comms, both physically and digitally.

Another "why punting phone thread" https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=103637.msg1223415#msg1223415

So only have punting related contacts on the phone and have punting accounts (with no links to your real life) in any apps and online services you use to contact or research SPs.

I don’t understand why more people don’t use kik, no mobile number needed and it’s not linked to any other services so won’t risk any contamination

Sometimes googling helps....

Like many other popular messaging apps, such as Messenger and Snapchat, you can use Kik to message individual friends as well as groups of friends. Unlike WhatsApp, which uses your phone number to create your account and connect to your contacts, Kik allows its users to create a free account by email and password.

Very useful information in here.

I have a dual sim phone with FB and WhatsApp linked to my personal number only. I swap to my punting number when contacting SP's.

Is there any risk here?

Is there a chance you could use the wrong number by mistake say if you were in a rush.
No risk is worth the shit storm if it goes wrong. And we all do make mistakes. Last year  I had the two closest calls so far, purely because I had become a bit to complacent. A real wake up call. :hi:

Offline xxplosive

I have found a useful "loophole" by buying an punting SIM card to get a new number to call from. However, I keep this SIM tucked away but registered the number on WhatsApp.

On my Samsung s9 main phone, there is a secure folder that is password / fingerprint protected. You can host apps in here which are seperate from your main apps so I have a second WhatsApp with my alternative punting number on there.

As most service providers use WhatsApp, it generally means I can communicate without needing 2 phones, 2 Sims, etc.

Don't see how that's going to help me arrange a punt.

Nor can I, the question was what is Kik?

I think having 2 phones is the way to go, but be open about the 2nd cell and come up with a good reason for the need for a second number....like you want to sell more shit on eBay without giving out your real number

Offline magnetico

Don't see how that's going to help me arrange a punt.
Especially with the fact that more or less no one in the UK uses Kik

Question for those who only have a cheap and basic punting phone: how do you access this website, and the escort sites, without any possibility of being detected by partner, boss, etc?

Plenty do use it but it's a generational thing.
A lot of CL casuals and SA "girls" use it.  I avoid it because it doesn't require a number so you're more likely chatting to someone who isn't serious or genuine.  It may be more anonymous for the paranoid but this also makes it easier for scammers and trolls.

I've seen it banded around on POF. Made no sense to me and it's usually the size 20 birds who are probably more desperate for sex than your average POF try-hard bloke.

Punting phones are just for bookings really.

I would do the browsing on any device with a web browser in "porn mode"  :hi:
