Author Topic: Is punting actually punting anymore??  (Read 1207 times)

Now then I've been doing this well over 20 years now...
Initially it was Forest Road as a young dumb teenager then I 'discovered' massage parlours and back pages of the local rag (and AdMag)

These days I've become quite risk adverse and due to AW and this fine site I pretty know what to expect when I book a WG.

So is it really 'punting' anymore?

IMO the answer is that it is and then it isn't.

There is no need to take a punt (defined as a chance) if you do your research. Information enables people to reduce risk of a poor outcome (in any walk of life).
However a TOFTT is still a punt and are almost all Romanians.

Yes I totally agree - those kinds of punts always carry a risk of B & S or just plain shit service...

But if you do the research then providing you're not the first to go there it really isn't a punt..

I only started punting this year, I've been doing it regularly past 4 months. It does seem to be an expensive obsessive hobby for me. I mostly do seem to have good punts but then of course have the few bad ones too. I'm intrigued to know for people that have been punting for 10+ years what were the prices like for most working girls back then? I also get the impression it would have been a lot better back then too.

Inised to use parlours like the sadly now defunct Sandy's in Manchester. Girls there were prett good and relaible as were the Thai places in Northampton.  Occasional forays into the back pages was proper punting. Prices around 15 years ago were about £50 half hour and £100 per hour if I recall properly.

But IMO, it is much better now. The internet, sites like UKP, UKE and AW enable you to research and connect better with quality lasses who offer the services you are seeking.

I agree you can pick better now with all info but i still look back too the days when you bought contact mags like phoenix from private shops & rang massage ads from local paper.never knew what you were going too get but loved the excitement as you knocked on girls door

I think it is somewhat less of a "punt" than it was 15-20 years ago. Who remembers looking through small ads with no idea of what the girl looked like?
However, as there are so many fake profiles
/ B& S on AW and Vivastreet in particular you still have to be careful.

The ads in the sport on a thursday... ooo russian roulette haha

As someone usually on the frontier punting fresh ones with no reports, there certainly is a risk involved just as much as ever before. I've been let down so much in the past following recommendations, usually from fluffies who describe munters as good looking, old trouts and young, fatbird as sexy bodied that really I find I have a better strike rate fronting up to the unreported knowing i will walk if it is shit. Even the Chinese places where the bloke answers the door and lets you in, there is no harm in about facing and walking out.

So it is punting today as far as I am concerned, but i guess not so much if all you do is following the hoards.

I think there is still some "risk" attached no matter how much research you do.  Your own taste and personality will never be quite the same as someone else's and WGs aren't machines so their likes/dislikes come into it as well.

Over the years I've had bad experiences with well reviewed girls and good ones with girls others didn't get on with.

However, these sites really help in reducing the odds of an awful experience.

There is still some thrill in a TOFTT though

+1

I think it's far easier to get laid in this modern information era that we live.

That said you can't IMHO beat the rush of a new girl to the scene as once more to the punt I go as I TOFTT, well actually I'm taking one for me, and stick my dick where no paid for dick has been before.  :yahoo: :yahoo:

Nothing like as risky as picking up street whores albeit it's a very long time since I last did that. Now street whoring really was punting.

The number of negative and neutral reviews indicates that there continue to be risks associated with punting. Furthermore, within the last few months we've had assaults, robbery / theft, attempted blackmail, etc just within the EM board, so the risks extend beyond a disappointing punt.

Although information-sharing on here and gathering information / research from elsewhere yields better information, these resources are also available for degrees of abuse by those who seek to deceive, exploit, etc. The additional scrutiny and sharing of information also adds accountability and reduces impunity for those providing poor service.

On a more positive note, being able to discuss and share information on good experiences and WGs is a bonus. Although even the best and most professional do occasionally have off days.

The bottom line is that where people, personalities, individual differences and preferences, changeable personal circumstances, etc, etc are involved, there will always be the potential for significant variation in experiences.

For those of us with an IQ less than 150, is that a yes or a no?  :unknown:  :D

I don't know, I can't even tie my own laces  :D

Punting is still very much punting. It will always be risky to some extent for the reasons above, and because it's unregulated, continues to be stigmatised, attracts a lot of scum looking for easy pickings, etc.

We can moderate but not remove risk, and even risk reduction confers risk. Your recent scare was a backlash to you trying to warn other punters to help them reduce their risks.

Some of it's good risk though with the anticipation and excitement of seeing someone new and unfamiliar.
