Read a bit from earlier posts and seems to be mainly rip-offs. Is it that bad?

In a word..."yup"
Not only the girls. Went to change some pounds to koruna and saw a really good rate at money exchange in Wenceslas Square next to Debenhams, when received local currency it came up short. I questioned them only to be told the good rate only applies if I changed more than a thousand pounds, I made loads of noise and managed to get my pounds back and went to different establishment where I was not cheated.
Restaurants advertise lunch at a particular price and when bill comes shows different to what advertised, when questioned, turned out the bread on the table, the ketchup etc was extra, almost as much as the meal that was advertised so ended up paying almost double.
So is it a rip off. Leave it up to you

I have been a few times and it is a great city, l suppose it is like any other tourist city, you will overpay if in the centre Wenclesas Square. Go out of the centre and it is really cheap. For a pint of Lager and Pizza £4.

Regarding punting, if you go to the flats it is as cheap as anywhere in Europe. But if you go to Darlings it starts to get expensive. Showpark Market and Davinci are good and not to expensive at 1500 czk for 20 mins although the girls always mention 30mins.

I would highly recommend, you will not regret.

That's taking advantage of tourists.
