" A 24-YEAR-OLD Romanian man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged in connection with human trafficking and prostitution.
Alexandru Pitigoi, of Waterside, Heysham, is charged with conspiring to facilitate the travel of another person for the purpose of exploitation and conspiring to incite prostitution for gain.
He was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court where he will appear on July 31.
The court heard several other people were already before the crown court as part of the same conspiracy. "

Yesterday our week of action against #modernslavery continued, with:
* Two women, both Romanian nationals, removed from an address in Blackburn. They are being safeguarded pending their return to Romania
* Eight people arrested for immigration offences in Burnley
* Three people, all Romanian nationals, visited and safeguarded in Blackburn
* Two women, both Romanian nationals, visited and safeguarded in Blackpool

there was another post yesterday thats vanished about two girls at another site in Burnley

It's the end of the month so statistics time. Good way of getting the arrest quota up with a few easy catches.

Yep said this before and say it'll again.

Alot of the trafficked girls passed through East Lancashire areas like Burnkey, Blackburn etc. Most raids and arrests have been made thanks to the Plod doing a good job here.

The interesting thing is that these girls are obviously working around Hotels up and down the country. According to the various reports - even plush towns. Either the police there turned a blind eye or clearly not doing a proper job.

Regardless, it appears they jailed some nasty criminals who were using blackmail and violence, so well done Burnley Police.
