I spoke to a girl on AW and we arranged to meet tonight at 6pm

and the last thing she emailed was "Hi can you give me a text or call tomorrow for address please xx  "

so I texted her at 5.48pm for her address

and she replied "you were meant to text me earlier to confirm you were still coming"

but she never mentioned texting to confirm anything............i had already agreed to meet up with her tonight, last night.

the later texts appears as if she tried to put the meet up off

Is this normal?

A bit ambitious not knowing where you are going 12 minutes before...I would say normally you need to message at least an hour before if only to satisfy yourself that you aren't wasting your time.

She might have made an error in assuming you knew what she wanted but you've also left it too late for her to assume you weren't wasting her time (remember school holidays are around now and so they will get an influx of timewasters).

I would just say live, learn and move on.

Thanks for your reply, I think I made a mistake as well in myself thinking she knew how close I was.

From what she described where she was, she would've been no longer than 15 mins walk away from my work.

She did agree to meet up again, but will learn from this.

She was a 15min walk away, and you text her with 12min to go. Given that you will not normally get an instant reply from any girl, do you have a tardis?
She could have still been with the previous client, or freshening up after same. FFS you are not the only one she will be seeing on any given day. A wee bit of consideration will make your punting life a lot easier, cause if you don't, you won't have one.

We had already arranged to meet at 6pm the night before?

I actually emailed her on AW at 17.25pm tonight...............and had no reply for a while and then texted at 17.48pm

I thought I was considerate when I emailed her, asking should I take a shower?

Don't be so rude

Well nightwatchman why did you email at 17.25pm when you wrote on first post [and the last thing she emailed was "Hi can you give me a text or call tomorrow for address please xx  "] then texted at 17.48pm - I would think you weren't coming either.

I agreed to meet at 6pm, is there something difficult to understand about that?

AW E-mails are even slower to get responses than texts and also of course you should take a shower. What you could ask is if she has a shower you can use.

She doesn't want to to go to town on sweaty balls and stinky pits any more than you want to go down on a rancid fanny.

Best policy is to text/e-mail around lunchtime or mid afternoon for an evening punt to confirm everything and get the street or postcode. Then arrive near the location with 5-10mins in hand. Pop a text that your nearby and wait for her to give you the details to find her.

We ain't building rockets here. Remember that all of this is underpinned by a simple transaction. While it will be fun for some it is still their business.

You could follow instructions given to you "text" or "call" for address, instead of "email" but follow Juilius_Sneezer advice!

you can't expect to contact a WG 12 minutes before a meet to confirm the booking is still on, and expect it to go ahead...If she didn't specify a time for you to confirm the next day, common sense should have told you to contact her earlier in the day..

Whether it be a late morning/Afternoon/evening meet...I will always try to confirm by 10am ..That way if there is any problems I will have time to look for a Plan B...

If initial comms have been made by email, then if I don't have an alternative means of contact(phone number), Location/post code 1.5 - 2 hrs before the meet, then I would probably consider it a "no go"....This will of course depend on travel time etc..

We agreed 6pm the night before, I thought that meant it was confirmed.

And I knew she was some 15mins walk away from my work, but it turned out she didn't.

If I was meeting someone that's a bus or train travel away then yes I would've texted in the morning etc

We have spoken about this by text last night and we're going to try again.

Good luck with visit #2.

Everyone's advice above is correct. You fckd up. You should have contacted her 2/3/4 hours before.
Stop being precious , accept the free advice and move on  ( Advice from people "in the know" ) as that's what you asked for.

Again , Good luck.

nightwatchman, you explain what happened in your first post on the thread and then ask others "is this normal?". When people take the trouble to answer your question you then argue with them, insisting either that it isn't normal or that it shouldn't be. Why not just thank them for their answers and for the insight you've now gained, as someone new to punting, about how things work?
