Has Winston's gone legit ? If not, then the new owners have drawn a lot of attention to the parlour by applying for a alcohol licence till 5am which was opposed by the police and refused by the licencing panel who both have said it appears it is still being run as a brothel.
The new owner, who apparently has worked there for years and was on the premises after the last raid when 29 people got arrested for drugs and prostitution, insisted what had gone on there before was not relevant to the application.
Summing up the panel said it was “finely balanced decision” but it was concluded there was enough evidence to support the police’s claims. She said the layout of the furnishings and VIP area were found to be ”inconsistent” with a simple massage parlour. The red lighting “supports the premise that it is a brothel”, she added of the licensing panel’s findings.
So you'd expect the place to be raided (again) in the very near future and may finally get closed down for good this time. Or maybe the new owners have legitimately made it a health club ( you'd think they'd rename it thought at the very least!)
