In my view the main purpose is to keep track of SPs who have advertised BB in the past, but not anymore. It's not like AW lets you check the version history of a profile.

Because some SP will remove it after the negative backlash and feign never offering it before. Capturing it now allows those concerned to see for themselves that it was on offer, whether it be overt or under the counter.
