External Link/Members OnlyNeither of us had been there before. We both agreed it was the better venue. Here's a quick recap of the pros and cons of each.
Price - Blue Door is £50 a hour, LDH is £55 and you have to book 2 hours minimum.
Location - Blue Door is very close to Angel tube, LDH is quite a walk from Bethnal Green tube. So Blue Door wins that one.
Hygiene/Bathroom - LDH is a clear winner. The owner clearly takes huge pride in his place. The bathroom facilities are immaculate - and despite the fact they are of a very high standard he told us that he was closing for 3 weeks in January so he could refurbish them. Personally don't see the point. Anyway the Blue Door is OK on that front, but the shower and toilets feel cramped and a bit old. Also towels - if you are going to the Blue Door take your own - trust me on this. LDH towels on the other hand were big fluffy and very clean.
Layout - the Blue Door is quite wide open, LDH has 3 smaller rooms. It's a bit more atmospheric as a result.
Equipment - I think LDH has the edge - so much BDSM stuff to play with. Lots of intricate equipment. In fact that actually became a problem when we visited because we had less than 2 hours to play with stuff and some of the restraint devices had so many buckles and moving parts that we had little time to unbuckle them and work them all out properly. The Blue Door does have a decent bed though - and here is a thought - if you want to meet an escort that only does outcalls then at £50 an hour it actually might make a better venue than a hotel. Assuming the escort is not bothered by visiting you in a dungeon!
So I think LDH is the better place overall (Ellie agrees I think), but the Blue Door is probably easier and more convenient for many. Also see below...
Regarding the visit itself - it was a two hour visit (£250) but we lost 15-20 minutes at the start though thanks to the owner showing us around. Now it's all very well showing us the complicated stuff but a lot of it was self-explanatory and didn't need a guide. So was a bit irritating. Once we had changed and I had showered (plus clean up time at the end) we only had about 1 hour 15 minutes play time.
Anyway Ellie was in charge. She bought along her black PVC dress, black holdups and her ridiculously sexy lace up stilleto boots, plus some of her own toys. So my tip for anyone would be take 5 minutes out before starting any BDSM "scene" and figure out what kit you are actually going to use and get it all unbuckled ready for play so that the scene plays out without interruption. Obvious really. We should have done it while the owner was showing us the stuff...
My other suggestion is unless you have the dungeon the whole day there is simply no point trying as much as possible. Far better to concentrate on a couple of peices of kit so the submissive can be restrained and teased for longer.
Still had a great time - Ellie finished me off by putting me in a cage which she then joined me in - for some much needed intercourse. Ten minutes to clear up and we left happy.

A quick word on the LAM - It's a good place to get stuff and get ideas, lots of different exhibitors with some stuff on sale. Quite a few though had not bought some of the things we were after - instead they point you to their respective websites so you'll have to order online. It's a friendly relaxed crowd and no one looks wierded out by all the fetish toys. You can easily chat with the stall owners as to what sort of thing you are after.
Back at hers we then proceeded to try some of these out.
