Large dance floor, about three bars, outside balcony area, food, cocktails, pumping music, great atmosphere, everyone decently dressed for a night out. Over 1000 people and fairly even mix of men and women. Bouncers would turn people away if they looked skanky or drunk. It was Rio's greatest institution while it lasted.

No disrespect but that's nonsense I've been to colombia and venezuela for work I've never heard about cartels being interested in the sex trade, drugs and weapons yes. Even when i visited a brothel once in Caracas in a very rough part it was clear that they were separate from the gang element.

Yes it was huge and had horrendous strobe lighting  Brasii's very own Studio 54 with a twist  The pavement bar was always great to drink at ! You could really survey the WGs and plan your attack although it was really only Gringos that were being sort after . The caipirinhas were some of the best i had in Rio . From my limited knowledge of Colombia i too find that a strange observation . Colombia too is a large country and each city is unique . Medellin certainly is not like that in respect to its WGs . There may be an exception to this in terms of a Club being operated by Cartels but that's not the norm in that city .

I don't know of any in Colombia like Help but I doubt it. There are some very high level clubs where people can pay a small fortune for an outstanding hooker but not the sort of eye-watering money that interests me. As with most countries I think, you have nightclubs that are frequented by hookers but Help was distinctive in that all the women were in reality hookers, even if they didn't look like it. And we were talking an enormous posh nightclub right on Atlantic Avenue along with five-star hotels. Colombia has many varied options, but I've never heard of a custom night club like that. There are places run by off-the-radar people up in the hills but Medellin for instance amazingly ended the long years of cartel murders and is considered a world example. There is a upmarket punters hotel there called The Mansion -- you mostly have to book months ahead -- that has a small disco with pre-selected prossies but the discos is the size of a living room, whereas Help was more like the size of the whole of Covent Garden Opera House. The other thing was that is was fun, a great night out. Even the prossies saw it as a great night out, dressing up, dancing, drinking, chatting or often competing with their friends. But Brazilians probably know how to party better than any other nation I've visited. They might go to Help to score but they'd also spend time thinking, fuck this, I'm going to enjoy myself, and of course that also makes them attractive to many punters.

I have also visited Venezuala, but IMO  Colombia's a different ball game entirely.

My opinion is the oposite but to be fair when I visited colombia I was not in a major city but I found it a lot more safe and less dodgy then how it had been discribed.

Now venezuela was a different animal for me the streets were more busy and you could see the relevance gritty element but funny enough you still feel safe. As it's said it's all about keeping your wits about you and not drawing attention to yourself.

In terms of looks I will always say that for me venezuelan women are the most attractive women in the world followed by colombians.

Small scale but still great fun, I mostly noticed places like this in Bogotá and Medellin but in Cartagena there is a active street scene from the evening, you can find some real stunners but I think Brasil is far superior in terms of quality, I found that from my experience it was quite easy to meet normal Brasilian girls in some of the malls, it didn't necessarily lead to sex but on a few occasions it did but nice to go on a few dates, back to Colombia I met quite a few girls in Medellin who weren't working girls, tinder is a good tool to use
