Afternoon and Happy new year everyone,

Just seen on another thread that a WG knows too much about a punter, with that in mind would I be right in thinking that we all use a pseudonym rather than our real names when punting?

Up to you
But using your real first name, unless an particularly unusual one
Should just fine, it’s not like going undercover
just keep private stuff private
Just don’t give out to much real info; search the forum for further info :hi:

I've gone so deep undercover with punting I don't even know who I am anymore! It's almost to the point that if someone shouted a random name out in the street i'd turn round on the offchance they meant me :D. Thing is I don't really need to half the time I just enjoy it as a bit of fun.

To remain one step ahead I change name regularly

My main reason for using one is having rare first and surnames and possibly a larger friendship/contact/work colleague circle than I realise.

Use any name you like, chances are she's not even taking it in. By the time you've walked out the door you'll be a distant memory.

This, but what do you think they save us in their phones as?.... "cheesy breath" or "tiny cock" or "boring twat" etc...

I don't see how giving just your first name could be an issue and they don't need to know any more than that imo.
Email addresses/phone numbers are the real thing to be careful with.

I confess SD is not my real name.  Nor is it Donald Fagen. Yep my real name is Walter Becker.

I've always been Jimmy....

I'm not clever enough to have a punting name.... :D

I remember the Receptionist at Sandy's Prestwich Parlour in about 2005 telling me that there were more punters called "Steve" visiting their Parlour than there could reasonably have been blokes called "Steve" in Greater Manchester! :D

not a problem.... a lot of Sandy's visitors were from outside Greater Manchester

There's no need to give any name when you're making the booking, or in the punt.

If you want to be careful you should use a different, randomly selected name for each WG. If you feel like the WGs are working together to figure out your real name you should include your own name in the list of names you choose from. Otherwise, they could collectively figure out your name is the one you never use. That was one of the weaknesses of the Enigma Machines (couldn't map a letter to itself). Personally, if they ask, I just tell them their own name backwards.

If you really think the WG's you select to see are in cahoots and conspiring to find out your true identity you should ask your GP to change your tablets for some stronger ones.

What pisses me off is when they are politely given a name at the start of the punt then end up calling you "luv" for the rest of the hour or half hour. In any other profession they'd get fired.

Offline Johnbean

John is apparently the most popular in Norfolk when I speak to WGs. I used to make up names but got confused when making return visits or girls in same place so stick to one now.

Yes, luv, babe, darling or hun. Makes me cringe sometimes.

Who knows!

In my case it might all of the above and more. :)
