Author Topic: Opinions please on 'non punts'  (Read 1402 times)

It happened to a few times in the last three months that I have arranged a punt with a WG, but when I arrive at the postcode given she does not answer her phone or it goes straight to voicemail. Thw latest one was yesterday with 'Dawn Does 69' in Glossop. I had been in Barnsley so this punt  Was a diversion from my way back home. I had arranged the punt, phoned again half hour before as agreed, pitched up at postcode - no answer when I phoned her at agreed time of punt. My question is this: Does this warrant a negative review even if the put did not take place?

If a date and time was agreed and then she let you down that's definitely a negative review.

I sometimes travel 40 miles for punts and I'd be very annoyed if it was arranged then I got let down after a 40 mile trip.

Negative review in my book.

If it's been confirmed and you've turned up, you're perfectly entitled to post a negative review, as per the rules of the site. It also very much helps other punters suffering the same fate.

I went 50 miles each way to see Cute Little Tia in Hereford only to be met with radio silence when I got there.
It's fucking annoying!!!

I've had it 3 times now with different SP's.  Each time I've received a text about 4 hours later with some bullshit excuse!

Kid wasn't well
Lost phone (yawn, could've been a bit more imaginative)
And the best one of all - Hubby came home unexpectedly  :D :D :D

You've got be pretty fucking incapacitated not to be able to send 2 words. "Sorry cancelled"

Negative, but she may have done you a favour, I have read quite a few negative reviews on other cites.

I think you need to look at the reasons for these

I don't think they should count has a negative review against the girl so it looks like 5 positive 2 negative as that looks bad for the girl if it for the following reason

Seeing you at 2pm, Seeing guy before you at 1pm for 1hr he arrives at 1:03 by time he parks & gets directions / room number

You arrive been punctual at 1:45 park & phone say 1:50 so guy is still in his booking & he is getting his full hour then she can't answer the phone (yes that is poor planning )

If the girl takes a booking & then fucks you over for a longer booking then that is out of order

If a girl has a genuine issue (child care medical as a one off ) Shouldn't really go against her , If she isn't working today because she got pissed with her mates after taking a booking then it should

The simpleanswer here is everything needs looked at on merit

+1 'it depends'    I've cancelled bookings on the odd occasion - usually a days notice.  Sometimes less.  So it does work both ways.  With the same burd then two strikes & you're out

Mmm.... twice definitely a negative review..

If a girl cancels in advance on me it's annoying but I wouldn't neg her. If I'm left high and dry having confirmed half an hour before, that's a red one from me.

Sorry but I disagree with you there. Any reasonable girl (not EE) is going to leave at least an hour between bookings to frreshen up. So even if the previous client had run late, she coule easily text and say can you give me eg an extra 30 minutes before you arrive. Same with a childcare issue, a quick text to say this has happened and I have to reschedule. After all, in a regular job you couldn't just walk out on your customers without saying anything.

To just ignore a punter when he is at the door is rude.

Radio silence or cancelling at the last minute is a instant red one from me now.

I easily accept cancellations with notice, that's the way it is at times but radio silence or last minute cancellation is unacceptable. I'll not do a negative review if I'm cancelled with notice, believe me, if I reviewed every cancelled punt negatively I'd have double the amount of reviews I have now. But... I expect reasonable notice. I'm quite easy going too, I'll begrudgingly live with being cancelled two hours minimum before my time with her. Having said that, I will not drive for much more than an hour to a punt.

The root of the problem is shit comms.

To pick up on one item con said, if a punter is late for a booking then it's his problem and his booking should suffer a reduced time span. It's not acceptable to roll the problem into every other booking of the day, that just smacks of greed on her part imo.

So, op, imo a negative review is perfectly acceptable.

Radio silence is worse.  I've had a couple of blow outs last minute which have been communicated
However the AW burds have made efforts to re-book.  And they've made every effort to provide something xtra when i've got to see them - added time, really going for it etc
Typically they'll have good FB which suggests to me that an open minded approach should be taken
If i think that there could be problems i'll usually have a plan B / C in mind
I try & lessen the chances by sending a text a good few hours before - allowing them time to respond between bookings
No response & i'll plan ahead by taking the tablet for example - so easier to organize an alternative

Looking at a profile, checking on here etc, its not hard to figure which ones have blow-out potential stamped all over them.  But you gotta go off-piste now & again

Radio silence or cancelling at the last minute is a instant red one from me now.

Thanks for the advice and shared experiences, I now have a clearer idea on what to do after a 'no show' in the future.

I totally accept that these things happen in the world of punting. We've all had instances I'm sure where we've planned a punt and the OH wants you to do something and you can't really say "sorry dear, can't go shopping I'm going punting"!
Same with WG's, there's lots of last minute things that can be a show stopper.
However, 99% of the time they'd have the opportunity to send a text, if only "sorry cancelled"

Kid was ill, surely time to send a quick text. Hubby came home unexpectedly, go to the bog and send a text.
On the occasion when the WG told me later that she'd lost her phone I had the postcode and street name  which only covered 12 houses in a cul de sac.
I walked up and down a few times looking for all the world like a punter hoping she might look out the window or something. Nah, I don't think she ever intended to meet me. Wish I'd negged her now, she's no longer on AW

So, what have you decided?

If this happens again in the future I will write a negative review.
