Sorry  but what actually is "cosplay"   .... I've seen  the word crop up on various occasions.

In this context  I assume it is referring to role play

It's 'costume play' which is dressing up, big in Japan and usually dressing as anime characters, superheroes, sci fi and game characters

It's not the same as dressing up in the bedroom / role play , but in this context it is
