Seen this one on vivastreet:-

The phone number is provided on the vivastreet site: +447450314971 / 07450314971
She is on whatsapp too, under the name Anika benzz, a Business account.
all this info is easily available.

Got in touch, initial phone call, but this was ignored then the whattsapp messages came in.
Quoted £50 for 30 mins, says £80 on the advert.
Anyway, got an address in Stirling (FK8) and confirmed the meeting time.
Parked up at a rather swanky looking hotel and called, but as usual, ignored. More texts.
Confirmed I was parked and ready to enter hotel, but then comes the kicker, can you pay first?
So, deposit of full amount - just a 50% deposit.
Of course I said yes, ok, how  do I do that.
Just send money to my account.
Account details...
The account details were then sent:
Account sort code was 11-07-15.
Name didn't match
MODS - Can I post further details?  Name and shame these twats?

Deposit wasn't sent as I feel I wouldn't get to see this lady.
What's the point in asking for a deposit when the punter is sitting outside waiting.
She probably wasn't in the swanky hotel, don't know the interior layout, but I recon reception wouldn't be far away from the main door.
But, youse know that it's a con?, right?

The rules do state “ All restrictions above do not apply to thieves and those with criminal convictions” regarding the privacy of the SP.

As no money was transferred or lost it’s a tricky one, though I totally believe you, it sounds like a scam to me. A screenshot of the text message with her bank account removed would be as far as I’d advise to go.

I had the same issue, girl asked me the day outside a hotel, I said I’ve cash in my pocket and don’t want this shown on my personal bank account, she send a link to an app to download, I said in here and will be with you upstairs in 5 with cash, she refused and I walked, I’d say it’s a common scam.

Were there any further texts after you refused to send funds?

Seen this exact scam several times in Aberdeen, it happens constantly nowadays.  Glad you didn't fall for it.

I reviewed one here - but thankfully never fell for it.  Mine was even worse in some ways - ''she'' gave me ''her'' room number, so if I had paid and then tried to visit I'd have either ended up with an empty room (best case) or banged on some random's hotel room door.

Asking for a deposit is an immediate red flag for me and other punter on here - and the account name not matching is another huge red flag if the first hasn't put you off.  That's a common part of it too, to cover the fact that they're lying and hiding identity - mine said ''will say name is wrong because of my middle name just click continue and it will go in''.

Good on you for reviewing this one in Stirling - hope it will be seen by other local punters and they'll read and heed this thread's contents. I gave up reviewing them in Aberdeen because I could spend all day doing reviews for these scam listings.  It's wack a mole because they just spin up a new ad with new pics and number.  There are always at least two on Vivastreet at any given time.

There were several texts after she sent the account details text.
I had went along with the scam to obtain the details as they are harder to change.
MOD- thanks for the reply and clarification.
I suppose a private message would get the details as it's not in the public domain.

I said it could take a while due to using phone...
Her text asked for a screenshot after I paid.

Few more texts, then I stated that I couldn't do deposits.
Few more from her, but I was busy searching for a back up plan.

I did eventually replies back, stating I was unable to set it up on the phone, and would have to try home computer.

Then got one saying she would send frnd account.  This was "as spelt" on her text.
Possibly friend account, but at the time I wasn't sure, and didn't pursue.
I have no doubt that I could get the friend account details as well, if that's what she meant, as I didn't end conversation in a "bad" way.

I seem to be unable to take a screenshot on the android phone.
If anyone can give me a masterclass on the procedure, I will sure try to send screenshots.
Tried volume down+power (seen it suggested on Google)...didn't work.

Did Bluetooth transfer onto tablet, but unable to open.
I am using tablet to reply just now.
Will look for a decent app.

Had to take a real picture to get a screenshot.
Pita.
Trying to add picture, but not showing on the preview, so this is a bit hit and miss.
Got the image attached in the attach images box.

Another masterclass required in how to attach using android.

It would be fun to see their response if you offered £70, or more, in advance in person, to save you the hassle of a bank transfer. :)

I'm glad their scam failed.

Don't know why that went sideways.

I thought it went sideways from the moment she requested a deposit 🤣🤣🤣

On the other hand well done for walking away with your cash and more importantly reporting it here.

Offline Fabtime

Yep, sideways, that's pretty much right...LOL.
