I've never heard anything so ridiculous, he kissed her on the lips, the Europeans you talk about who kiss as a greeting do so on the cheek. What he did is sexual assault.

BTW all the coaching staff have resigned in protest over it. Good job they have a better moral compass than you.

Beyond ridiculous
Scrap the spanish language
So what are they gonna switch to ?
& how many countries have their language derived from spanish
Like my fave SPs, southern american burds

"Whilst maybe it was too much" ??
"she didn't seem to protest.......", WTF is she expected to do ?
Me thinks after an exhausting match & then the celebration there are a lot of emotions going on
& then to be stunned & shocked
Not really knowing what to do

Use of the word 'better' suggests this bell end has a moral compass
No evidence of this [a moral compass] whatsoever

"Things are getting to the stage where ...." @BBLS might like to stun us [nearly as much as the spanish player being unexpectedly kissed on the lips] with a review
Edit:  this might be deemed appropriate

Edit edit:  responding to your post as it hit the nail on the head, which is hopefully clear [noting your rpely to @DD etc]

Don't know why you're quoting me, I was responding to billybobsmith's post.   :unknown:
I was actually agreeing with you, believe it or not, but if you wish to remove my post, feel free.

No, I just thought you might have quoted me instead of billybobsmith.

You can blatantly tell from her body language that what he did was anything but "consensual"  ffs! I'm no body language expert but that just said "what the actual fuck?" very, very clearly, and her sexual orientation is utterly irrelevant. Personally, I'd have given him a hefty right hook on the spot, and hang the consequences!

Calm down fella, if you're gonna have a pop at someone it's probably me, leave daviemac out of it. The reason I mentioned sexual orientation a few posts ago was because a number of high profile women football players identify as lesbian. What he did was wholly unacceptable, we've all agreed on this FFS!!   :dash:

I think we are all getting a bit confused. It's this ↓ post that we all take exception to.

I think the entire Spanish language should be scrapped due to its outdated genders.  How offensive must it be having everything as male or female.

Whilst maybe it was too much (although she didn't seem to protest, be put out, or anything negative at the time, though that doesn't justify anything), you could argue that "he touched my hair in an inappropriate manner whilst putting a medal over my head".  "I was hugged by another player, who is a lesbian, on the pitch and I felt violated being a heterosexual woman" etc.  Things are getting to the stage where anything could be deemed inappropriate.

Not sure if the French (plus other Europeans) with their kissing as greetings, those from the Middle East, Eskimo / Inuit nose rubbing etc. could be now be deemed inappropriate, sexist, as assault or whatever.

Even if you disregard all the other bullshit, to make a comment about her not protesting, reacting negatively or being put out at the time is ludicrous, FFS she'd just won the world cup, the shock of what he'd done wouldn't hit until after.

Sexual assault investigation now underway, the thing is if he had apologised and stood down then it would probably have largely gone away.
Instead he chose to go on the offensive and take action against her for lying  :dash:

He's brought this all on himself and deserves whatever comes his way, Spain may be behind where the UK is in terms of equality and the mindset etc but his thinking that everyone would let it drop if he rallied against it and got some mates to all close ranks has backfired

I don't usually like to use the term 'toxic masculinity' but in this case I think it's appropriate, couple that with the sheer arrogance of Rubiales not to admit he did anything wrong and you have a clear example how one man's actions have overshadowed the amazing achievement of a group of talented women.  All Spain is talking about now is Rubiales and his inappropriate behaviour when instead they, and especially the players, should be celebrating winning a world tournament.

Oh and as if things weren't weird enough Rubiales' mother went on hunger strike in support of her son!

This Rubiales bloke certainly has some brass neck on him, he still thinks he's done nothing wrong and won't resign over it. It has split the Spanish Football association that's for sure.

i really think this is the sort of issue that should be left to the locals to sort out, its not like other episodes elsewhere that freeze the blood, gang rapes, acid attacks etc

I think the Mother's hunger strike perhaps explain why Rubiales is coming across as so entitled. She probably told her darling boy that he was never in the wrong as a child.

The whole thing is crazy that there is a debate about what happened when the whole thing is on camera.

Spanish FA looking into sacking the coach, Jorge Vilda for supporting Rubiales.

Well the Spanish FA are now going to take action, unfortunately it's against her for lying about it not being consensual  :dash:
Seriously you couldn't make this shit up, who the hell is advising them  :unknown:

In relation to your post #114 the Spanish FA are trying to shut the gate when the horse has bolted
Easier to quote @BR
Me thinks they are on a damage limitation exercise
& aren't doing very well
No surprises there

They might be doing just a little bit better [not much tho] if they didnt take a siesta every day
