He spat his dummy out over the rules, he revived a 16 month old thread to post speculation on the origins of the virus, which always ended up blaming one nationality leading to derogatory comments, then decided as he couldn't talk about race or religion either it was a waste of time him being here.

Wow, he never struck me as the type for that kind of thing. The same with PP when he just wouldn't back down over conspiracy theory shit.

He went silent for about two months once as I think he had some family issues during the pandemic but resurfaced afterwards so I thought it would just be another one of those.

I'll never understand why anyone feels the need to go up against the mods, usually it's losing head over a WG that's to blame (eg. Whoisharrypotter).

Yes every so often I think to myself i've not seen anything from XYZ for a while and go trying to find their last post / login out of curiosity as much as anything.
In some instances they are still logging in but not posting (Nigel F was always prolific posting and reviewing when active but hasn't posted since June 11th but logged on 2 days ago) and in other instances they just haven't logged on for whatever reason.

I thought WW was quite good at putting down some of the shite that appeared on the covid thread and various other threads but I thought he hadn't posted for a while a couple of weeks back so tracked down his "last post" and was a bit disappointed to read it.
I'm sure we all have moments where we're not 100% happy with something that's posted or restricted but I don't see any point in over reacting in the heat of the moment as tomorrows a different day and you feel different once the dust settles

At the end of the day most of us are just ships passing at night with a shared hobby / interest

Agree with you entirely BR. I had a lot of time for NigelF I think he'll be back as he is a good punter. But like you I too try to track down missing members who I've had time for or left an impression, as you say more out of curiosity I guess. I think this is why when I see a big name banned I think its just a shame as they've probably made a big contribution like PP. Like you dont see the point of over reacting

WW used to post loads so I did notice when he disappeared. I did wonder if he had died was unaware about him announcing his retirement. He must be on here as a guest or another user he can't have gone from online all day to not at all just like that. What happened to James on here (James999 I think or similar to that)? He did NOT like me haha he called me out numerous times on various place. I did wonder if him and another user on here were in cahoots.

One former member I miss is FlyingBreadMan. He got banned for being an undesirable but like me he had a thing for the cheap hard bodied Roms in London so would often TOFTT when profiles first appeared and I would make a visit on the back of that. I miss his reviews as they were useful but he broke the rules elsewhere.

Another former member that I don't miss is YidArmy. Just an offensive brat. I called him out on some of his comments which I rarely do. The comments weren't even aimed at me they were just purely out of order. When I called him out his response was "It's a free country I can say what I like". Yep mate, good luck with that one.

I had a couple of run-ins with WW but I generally found that he would acknowledge a different point of view even if he didn't agree with it.

We should also remember that we don't know how lockdown has affected different people. I was grateful for the engagement of this forum, but also realised I probably could do with a break from it - I hadn't noticed that WW had disappeared whilst I was away. I'm pretty sure he had taken a break previously. But it strikes me that the closing statement was one that seemed a little out of character

He did acknowledge his increasingly skewed post/review ratio. But there are others about who are far more lacking on that score.

I assume they were grown ups and therefore it is their responsibility what they posted. I have a lot of faith in the mods and I am sure they would see past any game playing. Pretty sure anyone banned had it coming.

Exactly that, the mods have a pretty thankless task on here, even Head1 bollocked me so we are not all beyond reproach or well behaved all the time.

Plenty get numerous warnings if they fail to heed said warnings and get banned then they deserve it ✊

WW was rude to me in our first interaction, but randomly ended up helping each other find punts, so ended up friends. Funny how that works.

If I was around I would have recommended he join a political discussion forum to get all the other stuff off his chest. And reserve UKP for punting.

Add Littlefoot to that list. He has not logged on for a while. Always used to post fbsm reviews in the West Midlands section. Can't ever recall him posting in the off topic section so I don't think he had a fall out with anyone  He was a more senior member here so just hope he is in good health

Well as I started the thread I can say welcome back. Its amazing how some people are missed and I'm always curious whats happened to members who I feel make a difference as indeed you have. Unfortunately, the punting scene is pretty shit at the moment, with less selection and higher prices. Although even a 10-punts-a-month punter such as myself, I've found that 1-2 punts a month can suffice.
