Does anyone know whats happened to Sinz?

I ask the question as I found his profile updates and his photo captures really useful and suddenly end of last year he stopped and hasnt logged in since Feb I think.
A prolific contributer. Whats happened does any one know.

First death in the UK wasn't until March. There's not much to do, punting-wise at the moment, so hopefully he's just taking time away doing non-punting related things. It's the same for me at the moment with no punting, no reviews to post, and really not much to do in regards to punting. Although I still visit here out of habit.

I take your point. As a punter there's not much to go on currently, which is why I suspect admin has reintroduced off topic. Otherwise there would be virtually no traffic on the site now.
But in nearly 3 years SINZ did 10000 posts and stopped end of November long before CV19. I'm wondering if he OK or just decided to stop being active on the site. As I say, his contribution I felt was most useful.
I know people come and go, but you cant help wonder if some one like this is Okay.

I see what you mean. It seems unlikely to be virus related, at least initially. Unless he took a break, and then had no reason to resume due to the current lockdown. But still, the abrupt break in starting nearly 5 months ago in November is a bit worrying. Sometimes people will PM little details, like that they'll take a break to get their finances in order, so maybe somebody knows. Otherwise I'm just going to hope he had urgent things to take care of, and then decided to resume after lockdown.

MrMatrix, I do not know what happened to Sinz but I do recall a previous occasion where he went quiet for several days after an "exchange" with someone on here toward the end of last year.  Fingers crossed that he will be back soon...

Thanks WK. Got to admit when I've had a run in with someone or feel similarly ticked off , I too will drop out for a few days as well. But as a dedicated punter I get back into things. I haven't got much of an ego to bruise TBH.  Just hope the guy is Ok.

He is certainly missed-i think he was one of the first forum helpers,and pretty much did everything himself,got plenty of stick a while back when he was called 'the sheriff' and we were all his deputies,more helpers were introduced which eased his workload,and I noticed there were large periods when he didn't log on.

Hope he makes a return.

Dont know how old he was either. However it could be he's met the love of his life. I've seen that happen here as well.

The rule is clear and explicit - do not post that you are "leaving" the forum. It's more likely that longstanding prolific members of the forum will be aware of this rule and adhere to it so someone like Sinz will just quietly disappear. Its the respectful and orderly thing to do.

It seems that these days a lot of people know of and "meet" chat with share info online etc. As can be seen here people are curious as to whats happened to other members some being feared dead in the awfull un precdented time we've all expreienced in the last Two years and with that maybe we're all a bit closer together then what we once were?, the punting scene has chaged in that period so have several things.

As its stands, log out and thats it, don't make a drama just disappear!..

Maybe a slight change there? let us know your retiring, giving it up after all some have been on this site a very long time even if i wasnt punting I'd join in the chat which rarely goes that much off channel! this isnt the only news group i'm on and on others i've met some fine people, and some real arseholes!, and have in real life met them and formed friendships and benefitted from that.

Of course Daviemac dosent make the rules, tho sometimes it might seem he s does! i always think of board mods as the equivalent of a "govnor" in a slighty rowdy but mainly good natured saloon bar!!

So perhaps head 1 who i'm sure does make the rules perhaps ought to just modify that a bit ?, don't think its a difficult ask?.

I hear you Watts but I think you are ignoring two things.  First, there may be very good reason why Sinz did not give an update in which case a change of rules would make no difference.  Second, I think you are ignoring the history of hysterical "please cut my testicles off and deny me all access to the board" posts that might well have prompted the rule in the first place.  UKP has its fare share of narcissitic delusionals that need no encouraging to draw attention to themselves.  I am grateful for the rule.

Non of that explains why you are referencing me and accusing me of 'having a bad day' when I have nothing to do with the rules. If you have an issue with any of the rules then it should be taken up with the site owner, Head1. I do not appreciate having false accusations made against me. There are a lot of new members who may get the wrong idea.

FYI that rule has been in place since OldAdmin took over the site.

I've been on punting forums for around 18 years and some of those have included 'goodbye' threads. They are a pain in the arse, largely meaningless and boring as fuck.

"Well folks I'm finally hanging up my punting boots"... etc ... followed by sycophantic posts from others.

I've even announced my departure a few times over the years 

Worst ones are the SP retirement ones .. only for many of them to inevitably reappear down the road.

The reasons why folk stop logging in or posting on forums is discussed regularly over message boards.
It’s not something I ever concern myself with as we simply don’t know each other really…… do we.

Interesting about Winky Wanky. At one stage you could clearly see when he retired as he was posting as an ordainary member then all of a sudden he was on every day. There was a 10 day period couple years ago he did a 1000 posts in 10 days. Now thats a guy who needs to get out more. Never the less I found his posts useful. I dont see the point in throwing your toys out the pram like this, as yes, its totally anonymous. If Daviemac says they are the rules...... then they are the rules end off.

The other person whose gone missing is the oldest member of the forum, Happy Lad. Think he was 90, perhaps a bit more. Another interesting character. Some how I dont think he will be back. Hope I'm wrong

Yes every so often I think to myself i've not seen anything from XYZ for a while and go trying to find their last post / login out of curiosity as much as anything.
In some instances they are still logging in but not posting (Nigel F was always prolific posting and reviewing when active but hasn't posted since June 11th but logged on 2 days ago) and in other instances they just haven't logged on for whatever reason.

I thought WW was quite good at putting down some of the shite that appeared on the covid thread and various other threads but I thought he hadn't posted for a while a couple of weeks back so tracked down his "last post" and was a bit disappointed to read it.
I'm sure we all have moments where we're not 100% happy with something that's posted or restricted but I don't see any point in over reacting in the heat of the moment as tomorrows a different day and you feel different once the dust settles

At the end of the day most of us are just ships passing at night with a shared hobby / interest
