Author Topic: What is Birmingham like for WGs?  (Read 1604 times)

Offline PunterNumber69

I've not booked anyone for 14 months and I'm thinking of getting back into it.  No reviews yet as I only discovered this place recently.

I'll be travelling near Birmingham soon, so I thought I might try there.

I have read on here that there are people watching cars and trying to rob punters and WGs. Obviously I want to avoid those problems. From what I've read I should avoid the city centre.

Where are the good areas where I can discreetly and safely see a WG?

What are the warning signs I should look out for when visiting areas in Birmingham?

I find if you want to be discreet then probably best to do it indoors.

Or at least after dark.

Or behind a bush or skip.

The only sure way of avoiding muggers and violent crime is to approach the girls residence with your pants around your ankles whilst brandishing a machete. If its extra shiny that really helps, nobody is coming at you guaranteed, especially if you're crying and shaking your head at the same time.
Obviously fix yourself up before she opens the door.

Thanks for the helpful advice.

So the reports I have read on here of gangs hanging around areas where WGs work and harrassing punters are false?

I've not read similar reports about other areas of the country, which is why I was asking.

Is this a significant issue in Birmingham?

OK, ill give you some serious input to be fair.
The accommodation in the city centre generally consists of blocks of 'luxury' apartments. These will have their own drug dealers that service these blocks. The dealers stick out like a sore thumb with souped up expensive cars with blacked out windows although I did see a clever dealer in a Ford focus once. They will have their subordinates around them too running side line tasks. There are muggers I'm sure but as long as you ain't wondering around looking lost at your phone with something poking out your trousers you'll be fine.
Here's the thing though. If you are visiting a girl in one of these blocks make sure you know exactly where you are going and get as much intel from the SP as possible. Parking is always a nightmare too. Wear your covid mask and carry a shopping bag as if you are a resident going to your apartment or visiting a friend. Basically, make sure you don't stick out like a sore thumb. Not everyone is killed in a ghetto so there must be a method to survive.
And whatever you do, don't give the 'v' or 'birdie' to a blacked out vehicle.

You've misunderstood. I was referring to the fact that no matter how 'rough' an area may be, people manage their everyday existence and it can't be as bad as portrayed.

On the contrary. Friday and Saturday nights with reveller piss, shit, vomit and kebab meat everywhere I can think of nicer places to be.

Check the post code of the WG you want to see and all will be revealed. B1, B2 are the most popular areas.
You will soon see that Birmingham is as safe as any city and the city centre is not a ghetto. Just do your research using readily available resources.

What you need to do is go to sports direct buy an Adidas hoodie and sweat pants and practice in the mirror looking like a gangster init.

Go to Halfords buy a mountain bike probably a black one

Head to Birmingham dogs home to purchase a dangerous breed of dog possibly Staffie or pitbull ideally

Then practice walking in an intimidating manner round your garden while shouting init and oi oi in a loud and aggressive way

Once you've completed these tasks you need to send the videos to uk punting so we can annalise your progression, then we can send you on your first punting mission

OP, they're all yanking your chain mate. On a serious level, to truly enjoy a Brum city punt, you need to check the ULEZ website before visiting. Hope that helps  :drinks:

I can remember a thread about this happening, but it must have been at least a couple of years ago, certainly pre-covid.  I don't read every thread, however, so have there been any recent reports?

Not sure if the OP is just naïve, or a country bumpkin spooked by the big smoke.  I have seen reports of similar things happening elsewhere.  Brum seems to me no worse nor better than any other big city.  Have always felt safe during the daytime, but I presume that there are parts it would be better not to be wandering around after knocking out time, just like there are in other cities.

I assumed the thread title was asking about the availability of WGs, whereas it actually seems to be about how safe Brum is to visit.  Any chance of renaming it?
