I'm fully aware. My ex-wife had it done to her when she was 13.

Not if it's done for a medical reason to improve the quality of life of the patient.

If it's done for cultural/religious reasons before the age of consent for the individual then yes, I would equate it with MGM.

Worth noting that female MGM tends to be rather more pernicious, apart from the 'perceived as tidier' aspect one of the desired effects is to reduce the sexual pleasure for the girl so that the male is in control of the sex in a relationship.

I fully agree but would it express in the first sentence in the way that it goes about the health of the patient ,to be not able to follow the hygiene in that area will for sure cause infections.I do not even want to talk about bacteria causing the bad smell. :vomit: Life quality will of course follow but the aspect is in my opinion health.

Bloody hell, I hope it didn't affect her too adversely.

Of course, if you can't clean your cock properly because the foreskin is too tight, then obviously that would be a valid and appropriate medical reason to undergo circumcision.

Probably the same ones who wrote the rules that supposedly came from a higher intelligence. Nobody asked if the higher Intelligence was really intelligent ... this question was forbidden. Some called that intelligence Jahwe other Allah ...ord God , but God was okay with your foreskin

Religion is a man-made thing. So the rules were written by man, not some deity (by the way, I'm not saying there isn't actually a deity).

Therefore the rules would reflect what was 'desirable', in that location, at that time, and in the interests of that society and/or that writer.

So if you lived in a hot, dusty location and there was a high prevalence of nob-rot owing to a combination local conditions, lack of water for washing, lack of desire to wash, flagrant use of prostitutes in a male-dominated society, or whatever, it might be deemed desirable to cut every man's foreskin off to reduce the incidence of bad smells and infection.

Interesting theory, the Egyptian, Sumerian Empire is older, about 5000 BC. Were the people circumcised in this time as well ?

I have no idea. But the Egyptians had their religion too, it was based on various gods, Ra the sun god, etc.

Ultimately, whether Christian, Muslim, Pagan, Ancient Egyptian, whatever, when someone says 'god told me to say this/believe this/write this', that is a man's interpretation of god's intent.

There wasn't an old guy with a white beard and a robe suddenly appearing in the sky, calling down the shots with a big, booming voice. And even if there was, it'd only be on the say-so of a bloke, telling you to believe him because it's true.

Mine was done at age 4! I had an undescendent testicle that had to be removed from the abdomen and put back in the scrotum. At the same time doctor decided to do the circuncision cause he said 'It will look nicer'... Back at that time I remember my dad telling me 'the girls are gonna love it!' ... and I had no ideia what the hell he was trying to say ?! lol

Offline winkywanky

Well, was the doctor right, do the girls love it?

Seriously, do girls comment on it, or is it just not an issue?

My focus was rather the reason for the circumcision, not the religion,  everyone should believe what he wants as long as he does not want to missionary others, then all from hot countries should prefer  circumcisions, while all from northern countries  getting along without. Parts of China, South Sea Islands, Australia are very hot, are Aboriginales circumcised ?

Look at my reply #158.

'Rules' like circumcision are man-made in my opinion, they are then justified to the populace by men saying 'god told us to do this'.

In the case of circumcision I believe local conditions may have been behind it. Then it becomes part of the organised religion in that region, to make people comply. As that religion spreads around the world, so those customs go with it.

I have the answer reply # 158. seen and answered.

-You said circumcision could have sanitary reasons due to the climate.

-I think then the natives of Australia would have come to the same conclusion, are they? I do not know and the link gives no information.

-I believe more it could be a kind of sacrifice, to belong to the community of believers, because religion is a controlling instrument.

We will never know....

well not sure, tht may vary fro girl to girl subjective preference but IMO I think girls cares only about size anyway, isnt it?

Depends who the girl is and in what context you're having sex with them, but apparently the 'nice' girls say it's not how big it is that counts, it's what you do with it  :D.

Very interesting HP. As I started reading I wondered if this was Jim Rosenthal's son, and lo and behold!

Be interesting to know why he's so resentful of having been circumcised, but I guess you'd have to go to his show to find out!

I can see why he's pissed off with his old man: Jim says he had his removed for medical reasons, and then decided to have it done to his son because 'a son should look like his dad'. Sounds like bollocks to me, and despite Tom maintaining that the last 'real Jew' in his family was four generations back, it seems to me like dad's being a bit disingenuous and that perhaps he actually did do it for religious/cultural reasons.

'I had to adjust to life with a different penis' – the pain and positives of an elective circumcision.

After a diagnosis of phimosis, I quickly had the operation. The experience was demeaning, comical and extremely painful – but I’m happy that I did it

External Link/Members Only

My doctor was explaining, with some awkwardness, the procedure I was soon to undergo. “The skin around your … well ... when I was at school we would have said ‘bell-end’.”

I was in my mid-20s, and about to have an elective adult circumcision. After experiencing some problems with bleeding and tearing, I had been diagnosed with phimosis, a condition in which the foreskin retracts with difficulty or not at all. It had taken me a while to get to the GP about something that felt somehow shameful – but, after diagnosis, everything progressed quite quickly.

Before the operation, the relevant area was isolated by cutting a circle in the cloth I was lying under on the operating table. A team was gathered around me: a surgeon, an anaesthetist, nurses and perhaps an orderly or two. The administration of the anaesthetic involved – to put it bluntly – being stabbed in the penis with a large needle. The experience was, at times, demeaning, comical and extremely painful – but in the months after the operation, as a semblance of normality returned, I mostly felt relief.

It’s hard to obtain exact figures for medical circumcision in adults. In most men seeking treatment, the operation is to correct phimosis, which becomes apparent when they become sexually active. Insertive sexual intercourse, in particular, can cause the foreskin to retract, which may lead to tearing – although it is not known by doctors exactly what constitutes phimosis, and what is merely commonplace tightness that can be aided with stretching exercises.

Terry Brazier, 70, recently made headlines after going to Leicester Royal Infirmary for a bladder procedure and being mistakenly circumcised instead. Brazier was awarded £20,000 in compensation. In my view, having gone through the same procedure with my consent, that is about the right amount of cash for going through it unnecessarily.

I wasn’t especially well prepared for my recovery following surgery. Doctors gave me cursory instructions on how to deal with pain, how long to wait before having sexual contact again, and when to remove the bandages – but there was nothing in terms of psychological support in adjusting to life with a completely different penis.

To give me some idea of the days and weeks that lay ahead, I would liked to have been told: “Picture H G Wells’s Invisible Man in his bandage mask.” A friend was circumcised at 19 and remembers his own first impression: “The peen of Frankenstein.”

Beyond the unsettling visuals, nobody warned me of the terrible pain of the sudden strain on my dissolvable stitches, caused by involuntary erections. This eventually passed, and I was able to adjust to my altered circumstances.

My recovery was relatively painless, but, at its worst, the procedure can be agonising and traumatic. This year, a 21-year-old man named Curtis told the BBC that he developed post-traumatic stress disorder after his wound became infected following a partial circumcision at seven and a half years old.

It seems clear that there is not enough psychological preparation or follow-up. Unlike in the US where, it is estimated, 71% of biological males are circumcised, the procedure is relatively uncommon in Britain. For this reason, circumcision is shrouded in stigma and secrecy, although society is gradually becoming more open to sharing and less inclined to instil shame about body issues.

And the predominantly positive feedback I have received in the years since the operation lets me know I made the right decision.

One has to ask, where has the 'positive feedback' come from?

Why not just give wank camps during the Summer of every boy's 12th year and expose them to unlimited porn and patrolling busty matrons in their uniforms with plenty of fishnet and decolletage on show?

They'd all rip their foreskins clear past their bellends within a couple of weeks and then can convalesce for the rest of Summer with no porn, no matrons and just lots of tying knots and running around a lake.

Unlike in the US, where an estimated 71% of biological men are circumcised, the process is relatively rare in the UK.

Likewise in Germany Austria and Switzerland. The Muslim population and Jewish population are much higher in the USA, they are all traditionally circumcised plus the circumcised by medical indication.

...therefore such investigations are useless. For years in the above European countries circumcisions existed only for medical reasons. Would be also the only reason for me. Everything else I have already explained, who wants to circumcise his ears for religious reasons, cutting hair, punch holes in body parts, fine, his thing. But he shall stop to declare his live style to standard, or to a better thing.
