Author Topic: Links in reviews  (Read 938 times)

Offline Mr Rollison

Hi All,

Got my first smartphone, done a bit of searching on site but cannot seem to see a way of including a link on the phone.
Would someone direct me to the correct page?
Is it even possible? I have found there are some things I also can't do on ebay.
Or would folk get annoyed if I continued to review without a link?

Thanks

Copy the link then place it into the quotes you get when you press the globe/url icon.

Include links. Helps everyone

Take the time and learn how to do things in the established way. It’s not that difficult.

As for eBay and other sites, if you find the default is to load up the mobile site, press and hold the page refresh thing and an option to load the desktop site will appear. The app, or mobile site for eBay can be useful and quick to use, but doesn’t have the full functionality of the desktop version

Thanks for the reply but that made no sense.
I do not see a globe/url icon.

I do not see a globe/url icon.

Maybe just type out the link manually letter by letter, starting with www, then the forum software will work its magic

Did this. Thanks.
The link icon is called hyperlink not the other things mentioned.
Also that picture someone posted wasn't readable.

The picture is actually OK, it's just that the forum only allows it to be a certain size as it's actually "too high resolution". Whether you're on a phone  or desktop just tap/click on the picture to make it fullsize (it brings you to a dedicated UKP page with just that picture on it) and then zoom in as needed. It's perfectly legible once you do that.

Anyway to answer the OP's question, if it's an AW link just go to the bottom of the WG's profile and copy and paste this bit (remember to click on the image and then zoom in), it's usually quite easy to do even on a phone:
Hidden Image/Members Only

Posting both bits of the link is best if you're doing a review but if you're just searching it's best to search for the just the link with the numbers (the first bit, e.g. External Link/Members Only) as the link with their name (e.g. External Link/Members Only) changes whenever they change their name but the number stays the same unless they create a whole new profile. However it can still be a good idea to search for both links, as some people only post the "name" link and so if you search only the numerical one then you might not get the results which just include the "name" link.

Do also note that if the girl has an advert/profile then it's a requirement to post a link to it (as per the site rules, see the reviews section: https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=1.0). To be fair though, it's not a massive deal and someone will usually do it for you if you forget. Nonetheless, it's better and more helpful if you include it yourself.
