Hi chaps,
As I am now back from my Normandy trip I thought I'd finish the thread ...

Had a great time visiting the beaches and cemetries ... really interesting and thought provoking. There were a few decent restaurants in Bayeux, but the bars were rubbish ... completely dead except for a few old locals who looked like part of the furniture !
As for any action ... forget it. We asked our tour guide who lived locally and he said there aren't any lap dancing/ strip bars in the area, nor did he know of any "establishments" in the Normandy area ... I think the Gendarmes have tightened up on the whole business since the laws in France changed... The guy who was the barman and concierge in our hotel didn't know of any either ... he directed us to an Irish Bar, which turned out to have 3 blokes sitting around a table smoking heavily and drinking Ricard !!
So to summarise, go and enjoy the history and the local area, but you'll keep your zipper firmly locked up ...
