Poor form by PC but OP has gotta think about the logistics
Like a long [relative for punting] train journey, starting before 7am, so up @ fuck knows what time
Think of it as a business meeting or one with friends. Not a bad idea to check before departing
If no response then bin the booking & suggest she responds if she wants to re-arrange
I'm not trying to defend PC, far from it. Never seen her
But the word naive springs to mind
Burds do balls things up - an occupational punting hazard
A lie in on a sunday morning is inviting, especially if a long lucrative booking the night before & a busy day ahead
The other punter [if there was one] could have been having a lovely sunday morning
Useful to have a plan B. And on a journey C & D and possibly E. Plus a parlour if all else fails
The only punter who hasn't had things go pear shaped is one who doesn't do much actual punting
Albeit not quite so spectacularly !
