Sad to hear that its closing.  Paid a few visits there in the last couple of years.  Had not been back for a while as my regular girl finished working there.

They were well over charging for years, 80 notes half hour with the exception of Alexia were quite frumpy looking ladies, good if you like em like that, but with Abassadors Abygales and 1st Choice churning out better value and sexier chicas, this news was inevitable. Most punters want GFE nowadays so even the parlors above may not have much time left, who knows.
I'd imagine them walls could tell some tales of years gone by

There was a girl who worked there (Cassy I think her name was- had a Yorkshire accent)  reasonable looking but did speak a lot who would do deals herself. I remember I had an hour with her £100 which included CIM. She left a few years back and I never bothered going back as the other girls were less flexible in their dealings

Sorry previous post written in haste. I meant the pictures on the walls in the main upstairs room on the agents details (some of you know what I mean!)

I wonder how the agents will explain to prospective buyers the fact that almost every room has a bed and a bath or shower. And arranging viewings might call for careful timing.

I visited the retreat 3 times, alexia twice , very good both times and night Raven, port talbot / neath now, called something else when in Cardiff, much better in real life ( looking, she had blonde bob ) but could't make me come quick enough to get me out the door, if she did't have a Scottish flag tattood on the back of her shoulder I'd have thought she was a Roma ! I thought it was a well equipped spacious place for punts, jacuzzi , showers all in the rooms etc but only saw alexia who was worth visiting, as for the other, move on .

Yes, Cassie was the girl I saw a few times.  She was quite chatty and was good company.  Good shag too.

I've never been there myself.  I clicked on the link above and noticed there is a video clip amongst the estate agent photos, so clicked it in the hope of seeing some porn action..

Are the beds shown the same ones that have seen punting action?

Just saw the link, saw action twice with differant girls on the bed at end of video ( upstairs front bedroom ) check all the towels next to bed ! and had fun in the shower in same room, the ground floor back room led on to the yard , this room had the jacuzzi in it, we had the door wide open on that hot day. Still think it's great for what us guys would want it for .

The new owner would have to put a skip outside and fill it with everything that's in there and set fire to it all.

After that I guess you'd have to gut the building and wash it down with bleach.

I visted this place twice many years ago. It used to be called Oasis but it got gutted in a fire.

It then opened as The Retreat. It used to have a sign saying 'The Retreat...the name says it all' but then that disappeared probably in the interests of discretion. After that I wasn't sure if you could just turn up there and see a girl or whether you needed to book beforehand.

Yes it was in the exact same location as I recall.

This has got me thinking of Cardiff brothels that have closed. I'm sure many of us remember A1 Leisure on Crwys Road situated next door to Top Hat laundry.

And I think there was a brothel on the corner of Pearl Street and Pearl Place in Splott close to The Tredegar pub. Could anyone verify this as it's such a long time ago I may have imagined it.

Thank you tiddlydave. I was sure there was one there. Do you remember when it closed? The front of the property remains unchanged apart from the opaque glass.

The Tredegar pub was a real dive.

Couldn't say exactly what year the millenium closed early 2000's i'd guess when i was punting regularly couple of good girls with great attitudes working there, i dont bother with parlours anymore EE and students charge too much and want you out the door son as you hand your hard earned over not for me i stick to the asians now more willing to please though thats been questionable lately.

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but seemed better than starting a new one. I noticed today the old Retreat premises are now up for sale again, with a different agent, Simpsons Estates. It has operated erratically over the past few years without any signage or much advertising. Interestingly, the pics on the new agents website do not blur the erotic Chinese prints on the wall of the front upstairs room.

Saw this advertised last year online, also saw it in one of the shop front estate agencies on Albany road. I heard a rumour that it's going to be converted into tiny bedsits for students or possibly an extension of the refugee place on Newport Road.
Retreats is an option that I took off my punting list about 3/4 years ago, the rise of the Indies & all that cobblers (that would make a good book for someone to write, Nick !)
Someone's created that 3 storey swingers club over on Bute, so sexual investment is still pretty rife in Cardiff.
