I'm over in AC at the moment, staying on Fields Avenue, the strip isn't so busy, this is my second time here, arrived early Wednesday morning at Manila airport 3am, got a taxi from departure level over to five star bus company, made sure to take a official taxi from the desk, on the meter it was less than 100 pesos, got out of the cab, and in matter of seconds some weird dude comes over, asking something about Angeles, yes mate, I'm getting the bus, why the fuck would I get a ride with this oddball? So jumped on the bus, no need to buy a ticket before, the conductor comes around later, ticket is 139 pesos. I arrived at AC about 05:30, got a trike over to Fields ave, I was way to early for checking in to my hotel, so left my bag and went out for some breakfast, fields was quiet, but there were still some dudes out offering me Viagra, why would I need that at 6am?

Yes ok to compare the two, AC is pure mongering, apart from bar crawling, there isn't a lot to do during the day, apart from drinking or the hotel pool, Fields ave is actually nicknamed walking street, as its shut off after to vehicles, the bars are a lot more concentrated in one strip than Patts, and on the whole the girls are less business like, and most girls can be BF LT, Philippines to Thailand is a let more poor in general, and it can be dangerous.

A week is probably long enough for AC, I didn't have a fav bar, the bars were fairly quiet when I visited, my advice is just head down Fields early, like after 7pm, and scope out the hot girls, unlike Patts in AC the hottest girls can be BF early, so if you snooze you lose, perimeter is worth a wander down in the afternoon, get a hotel on or near Fields Ave.

Yes, but not really to my taste. Like Patpong on stilts only bigger. But still small enough to explore in a day and night. I don't see much point in asking for recommendations. There's bloody hundreds of prostitutes there. They don't have lists posted saying the one who goes by such n such a name this week is working in such n such a bar unless she's kicked out or doesn't get up for work. It's just a cattle farm with pretty lights. I stayed a about a week and wouldn't return in a hurry but it's worth haven't fun till the novelty wears off for you. Crunch came when I had an argument with the owner of Swiss Chalet Hotel about his fancy crap rooms. Enjoyed some countryside then fucked off to Subic, fairly adjacent to paradise.

With Pattaya yes, I'd agree. If I went back I'd probably ask JRC or other Pattaya/BKK regulars about recommended hotels for instance. With AC though -- and others may have a different opinion -- it doesn't make that much difference as long as you stay reasonably central as it's very compact. Wall to wall go-go bars and a few karaoke bars. You can just cruise around to find somewhere you like and it's easy to chat to other punters for latest info when you're there if that's your thing -- just check out one the big places selling enormous breakfasts -- any men there are almost undoubtedly punting, so you can be quite open.

Probably the main thing to be aware of in advance (so you can learn quickly and not waste time) is distinguishing cherry girls from ones that will reliably fuck. There's little point to bf a cherry girl unless you are convinced you can get her to fuck and without paying horrendous amounts. They are there to pull in customers and pose as prossies without putting out. You'd wish they'd wear a fucking badge saying, "me cherrie gurl, me no fuckie, me do 'come inside' hehe, please pay me money if you nice stoopid guy."

But compared to some parts of the island, that's straightforward.

After a couple of days, I stopped trying to obsess over odds. I'd find somewhere that I liked the mudic and at least had a few reasonably doable girls. I found the girls in the less busy bars a bit more appreciative - but that's not necessarily a statistic. You take your pick and take your chance. Btw there's maps of AC with all the bars marked online in case you haven't found one yet.
