You don't have to install any extra software (although some browser extensions are a bit easier/better), Win 7 and 10 both have ok screen grabbers and cropping tools, the latter also has XBox Gamebar for grabbing screens and video playing.
If you haven't already become a fan then the only real tool you need is Kuck's AW Civilzer for Chrome (and Kiwi on Android).
