Cheers - Agreed and this link supports the contention
Can "Butt-Exercises" REALLY Make Your FLAT-BUTT, Round?
FACTOR #1 - Genetics: The actual "shape" of your glute-muscles is determined solely by your genetics. Remember, your butt is a muscle, just like your biceps, calves, quads, etc. It's "shape" is inherent and unique to you specifically. If you train your glute-muscles – like other muscles – it will become stronger and grow, but its shape will not change. In other words, whether you naturally possess a round-type butt or a flatter-version, you probably always will - you'll just possess a stronger or more developed butt. No matter how much we want this to "not" be true, it just is.

Exercise does play a role in changing body types, but one thing is certain as mentioned Genetics can get in the way i.e. -
Asian fitness athletics / body builders have to work twice harder than other nationalities to achieve their fitness goals - some do manage to get the definition but won't end up looking like Simon Panda or Ulysses hence genetics does play a role.
The other point is that eating properly and doing certain types of exercise will definitely change your body type - all targeted body group will change over time ie glutes or Booty but as mentioned your gene will determine the form it will take.
Having said that, body types are as a result of eating habits over a couple of years, in women sometimes child birth changes their form.
Sometime you ate your way into for years will not take a week to get rid off, it may take 3 months, 6 months or 1 year it all depends on genes as stated - but we all want contenders that meet the criteria hence some SP's now pay quite a bit to remove cellulite at Harley Street but still that process takes months.
In a nut shell I'm grateful when a contender meets the criteria, as there seems to be few that fit the bill.
I took out time to read the article and definitely will agree with the below extract from it:
"
Bottom-Line: If you eat wisely, and exercise intelligently, you won't be able to ever change the shape of your Butt-muscles. However, the appearance of its shape "will" eventually change.
