Author Topic: Forum Feature Request  (Read 3965 times)

A couple of things would aid forum readabilty

1. A topic started date on the board so you can see how old a topic is before clicking into it
2. someway of previewing the first post, maybe via a mouse over.

I've seen other boards using the same forum software with these features but I've no idea if its custom code or not

Unsure there is enough demand for 1.
But 2 would be handy.

I have a few major features (killer things like search reviews by location / distance, basic prossie profile system, image upload, improved post search facility, etc.) already done, just need final testing before being added to the site.

Should be done by 1st April, currently busy with projects away from the keyboard.

I think that point 1 would be a useful feature. I've often clicked on a topic only to find out that it's over a year old.

Would it be possible to narrow the search facility to a particular section, like East Midlands, off-topic, etc?

item 1  would be very useful     , to at least know what year the topic was started, something like this would allow at quick glance to see whether the topic began in the recent past or not.  (especially when WG's dont stay for long sometimes, some threads might be out of date after a year or so).  I have got caught out reading something because it had been commented upon in the past 24 hours, say -  so comes up on the list of topics near the top , so I'm thinking it was recent, to then realise nearly all the posts were from 4 or more years back and completely irrelevant to todays punting!

Its probably not an issue if its just a few weeks or even months, but helpful to know if a topic began several years ago.

Yeah agree that would be useful

Admin - you're not pulling our collective legs with April fools are you  :D

A useful feature would the ability to block a thread I wasn't interested in - a bit like how we can opt out of regional posts, but more specific.

Do you mean just block a thread or block a thread that you have previously posted on as that would be useful
(I posted on a midlands thread about a barebacker and now get recommendations for the area which I don't want / need to see so it would be good to opt out of this thread now)

I mean, for example, someone starts a subject on 'Erotic thoughts I have when watching snooker', and I have no interest in reading any posts about this at all, I could just click a check box to stop the thread showing up when I click on 'Show unread posts since last visit'.

I find the search facility great for locating reviews of indies, which is its main purpose; but less so for other searches, such as relevant recent posts about a punting or non-punting topic. If it's very recent, then the list of recent posts, or for ones one has participated in, list of replies might work; but other than that (unless I'm missing something), search results seem to be in random date order. I would think a tweak to sort search results by date might be welcome. A second benefit would be making it easier to find an existing, discussed topic, rather than starting new threads.

It would be a great help if it was impossible to post a review without a town name, in the title. Similar to the need to choose Pos/Neg/Neut before posting a review.

Allthough I am more than happy, with this very useful site, which has saved me a fortune on wasted punts

Not sure if this is already possible but to have out own hot list on our profile page where we can keep links of girls on aw and agency sites.

searches in chronological order, with the newest post showing first?

Offline Jay-Jay

May be a lot to ask but I have no interest in parlours so in reviews it would be handy if they were sub-sectioned "Parlours" ," Indies" perhaps? Otherwise the site is great.

This would be useful when you only have the name of the girl to search with, you could then keep to the area you know she worked in.

Here's  a controversial one.
How about the worst escort picture challenge being moved to off topic.
for two reasons:
A. It's got the site a reputation for misogyny amongst the general public.
B. It makes it less likely escorts will put unphotoshopped accurate pictures of themselves online.

How will they find out their photographer did a bad job? Nobody else will tell them   !!   :sarcastic:

Remember the unwritten rule about software releases or product launches on April 1st. Maybe bump to 2nd.  Thanks for all the hard work.

The thing is, they haven't done anything wrong! I can see why blackmailing or scamming prossies should get negative publicity.
I suppose it's the way society's going.
Tabloid newspapers outing prossies to boost circulation.
Radical feminists publishing police mugshots of punters arrested in the States.
Punters publishing bad pictures of prossies they're not going to see anyway.     :unknown:

How about a Facebook type Like post feature? It'll stop people from writing +1 in threads which adds to their post count but doesn't actually mean anything to the count.

Displaying number of likes would show how credible you are so people also won't use post count as a measure of credibility

Credibility has nothing to do with liking what you read !

+1's and likes are pointless, a +1 with an expatiation why you agree is preferable and more credible !

I suppose you are right. But we do need a feature to stop people doing it
