A cautionary tale for those who dabble with air hostesses...
Today's newspaper tells us that a former British Airways air hostess has just gone on trial at Oxford Crown Court accused of seducing a 15-year-old boy in 1977. I repeat, in 1977. She was 32 or 33 at the time.
Now I realise that in 2016 almost every sexual action, however long ago it took place, counts as sex abuse of some kind. But really...
Instead of telling all his friends, and being regarded as the luckiest bleeder in the school, the boy, now a man in his fifties, says that after the event he "went completely off the rails". (Or should that be off off the runway...?)
Fortunately, however, he's managed 39 years later to get sufficiently back onto the rails (or runway) in order to try to ensure that this wicked, wicked woman goes to jail.
