Now this link on the BBC home page for Hampshire sounded like a good idea being prohibited for no good reason.

       'Prostitution' pub crawl slammed

But the reality was a little less exciting: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-19909216

Seems like it's a common thing around the UK:

Liverpool: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-19896205
Sheffield: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-19650440
etc

They tried to ban the carnage pub crawl in Sheffield before. A few years ago, one berk, a first-year student got drunk and urinated on the war memorial. He was made to withdraw his uni application, in other words he was expelled and banished.

The news story is just another case of an MP trying to get a bit of publicity. He will probably have a rant about garden shovels next (hoes).
